Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 05, 2016 9:08 pm Hi there thought it was time to make my own thread, we have decided to go with Newstart homes and building the grange acerage house.
We bought our block of land a year ago which is just over an acre at Buccan qld. And today we finally got approved for our loan for the house <3 so thought it was a good time to start this thread up again. We've got an EOI on a stage 6 block out at Buccan and are meeting with Newstart and Oracle tomorrow. Congratulations on building the Grange. It's a beautiful home and hopefully all goes smoothly for you. It'd be great to find out your thoughts on Newstart Re: First timers build- Newstart- the grange 3Mar 06, 2016 9:23 am Oh how exciting! We are stage 5 we were deciding between oracle and Newstart too.. Will be interested to hear how you go today, we were crazy about the Seaview through oracle until we saw the grange, in the end we chose Newstart due to hearing Newstart have some of the best inclusions and I wasn't that fussed that with oracle I think you can only pick a colour group of ones they have made up when picking colours but that is just what I found, is your meeting at jimboomba? Excited to follow your progress. Re: First timers build- Newstart- the grange 4Mar 06, 2016 9:42 am I've just sent you a PM. My hubby has put together a design of what we'd like to get priced and Newstart will do custom builds. From reading these forums, Oracle have had huge problems over the last few months which would make me nervous to build with them. Re: First timers build- Newstart- the grange 5Mar 31, 2016 8:15 pm Hey guys, we are in the same boat. Have paid a deposit on a custome design with Newstart and about to start negotiating the contract. Build is to be in karalee, Ipswich. Land isn't ready until at least June, so build won't be started until later this year. Where are you up to now? Brett Re: First timers build- Newstart- the grange 6Mar 31, 2016 8:48 pm Hey Brett, we were initially going with Oracle but have now decided on Newstart with a custom build as well. Only just paid our deposit today to get in before the price rise. Their sales guy has been very accommodating in helping us price it up etc. The block we're buying is due to be registered this month I believe. We also visited the Newstart colour room on the GC last week. Re: First timers build- Newstart- the grange 8Aug 25, 2016 7:42 pm Update we got approved for the loan for the house today!! I am so thrilled! how are you guys going?? Re: First timers build- Newstart- the grange acreage house 9Sep 18, 2016 6:43 pm Have just uploaded the house plans Contracts have been signed and sent back, the reality of colour selection is setting in.. We don't have too much leeway for upgrades so I am hoping we can find most things we like in the standard range. Picking tiles is freaking me out! We are thinking either the forest wood look tile is grey or the Colorado grey natural from national tiles. I just want to love my floors but am a tad OK a lot indecisive so it worries me ? Re: Newstart- the grange acreage house 10Oct 01, 2016 10:33 pm Colour selection has been booked! 10th of October.. I am so nervous about all the decisions to make ? So changed our tile choice yet again and gone back to the first tile I loved which was the heartwood tile in eucalypt I am hoping it will bring some character to the house, just hoping it won't make it to dark. We spent close to 2 years in a process with TA. It was horrible..... we got to tender, and the first cut was 50% over our budget which "they care such about meeting ".
