Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 41Apr 25, 2016 6:34 pm yeah got the app, but it crashes when I go to 'subscribed', and generally won't let me attach anything. I can talk to you, but it says the forum 'does not exist' when I attach a pic. Jeepers!
Gee, hope the cough goes soon! Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 42Apr 25, 2016 6:37 pm I press the '+' sign, then the little photo pic then it asks size and I just choose, 'actual size' Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 43Apr 25, 2016 6:38 pm Nope, it hates me - so the feeling is mutual! I think I'll uninstall it! Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 44Apr 25, 2016 6:39 pm There isn't any plus sign... maybe it's dufferent on the phone to the surface pro? Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 45Apr 25, 2016 6:41 pm it has an actual menu that says 'attachment'. hahahaha... the luddite comes to the fore! I'm hopeless sometimes... Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 47Apr 25, 2016 6:43 pm Thanks for trying to help! I've just confirmed the email addy... wonder if that will help? Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 49Apr 25, 2016 6:45 pm Yeah I think I had to confirm mine before it worked correctly Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 50Apr 25, 2016 6:49 pm nop, not gonna work. I have a reply box with a box and arrow to the left, which sends me to the attachments menu, and a 'send' icon on the right... that's it. nix nada nothing. oh well! I'll delete tapatalk now. maybe if I figure out how to get it on my phone? hahahha
Sorry you wasted time helping me, but thanks! Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 51Apr 25, 2016 6:52 pm Haha no problem, if I can do it, I'm sure you will figure it out Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 52Apr 25, 2016 6:55 pm If you prefer to use a computer for the forum, then set up a photobucket.com account. You can then upload photos to your Photobucket account and copy the code it gives you for forums. You then post the code in your post here ☺️ Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 53Apr 25, 2016 7:02 pm Thanks Tomcat, BTW I pm'd you again... I prefer not to put photos on photobucket and flickr and all that... Tapatalk hates windows 10 that's for sure... it finally gave up and wouldn't even let me have a comment box at all. I just restarted it a couple of times and 'Computer says NO!' hahahaha So unless I get it working on my phone, I'll be photo-less! Thanks for the help, everyone. Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 55Apr 28, 2016 7:17 am Hahahahahaha, gotta laugh! I went for the phone app in tapatalk... after I got the phone to a point where I could download it...sometime later... I find that it tells me I have to have ios 8... which I can't get, as I'm using an iphone 4. Arrrghhh! I have a perfectly good phone which I use for a very small amount of texting and an even smaller amount of phoning. Why do I need an expensive new phone to use one app? Porquoi? Not gonna happen, even though hubby now wants to buy me one. I'd rather invest in lights for the new house. So gonna bite the bullet and see if I can join photobucket or similar... I hate technology and love it at the same time. On another note, I had a list of nine questions to be answered before I started correcting the working drawings we received. Little things like - is there a reason that the internal opening windows were changed to fixed? Is there a reason we were given lift off hinges in some places, not others? Etcetera etcetera etcetera. (I hate painting those fiddly bits between the door frame and the wall corner. And I like a bit of elbow room if I need to take off the door. Gimme another 5cm for heaven's sake!) The client liaison at the builders was great, got back to me the same day, answered all the questions and offered great advice... so much better than the sales rep. Open and upfront about everything. There were a lot of small things that were weirdly changed on the drawings. It looked to me like they do so many that bits of other peoples houses crept in! How did anyone else go with their drawings, lots of changes? Or minimal issues? Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 56Apr 28, 2016 8:57 am Still waiting to see ours **groan** I'm not good at waiting for things. Thought we would have seen them by now, it's been weeks. I like iPhone 4, they are smaller and easier to use in my small'ish hands haha. Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 57Apr 28, 2016 10:01 am JayaJaya How did anyone else go with their drawings, lots of changes? Or minimal issues? We were actually really happy with ours in that they haven't changed from the first version to the final version. We got all our changes done during the sales process and didn't need any revisions. This was probably due to our salesperson being a more experienced type and had a pretty good idea before submitting to the architects for actual drawings. The only thing was they forgot to put the decorative dutch gable on the roof, but it was fixed in the final version before we reported it anyway. Hopefully we didn't miss anything. Feel like I checked the drawings 100 times Building a Fairmont Custom in Seaford Meadows Our Build Thread Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 58Apr 28, 2016 10:56 pm Our builder did a great job with our drawings. We kept changing stuff on them though The previous builder we had commissioned (but went broke on us) ... McCracken ... were hopeless. My husband said it was probably the draftsman that sent them broke. Seriously, he got nothing right. He took weeks to revise his mistakes and still couldn't get right. Once he even upped the version number on the drawings but didn't put one change on it BTW thank you again for my flapjacks! They are so cute. I love the little sign that was pushed in the potting mix: 'will you be my new mommy' Isn't this lady super cool peeps? Oh yeah and she has the most luxurious hair. Want want. I'm super jelly PS. I still have an iPhone 4. I feel your pain with getting new apps, gah! Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 59Apr 28, 2016 11:14 pm Yes, she's super cool for sure, makes me giggle Re: New Building Seaford Meadows SA 60Apr 29, 2016 6:53 pm Blushing madly, stop it! Yeah Marshall... I agree, so much easier on small hands, the iphone 4. I can't believe you're waiting so long - ours were quicker than we really expected. Probably a slight advantage there in going with a builder that isn't so big. Tomcat, no worries about the flapjacks -thank YOU for giving them the chance of life - like I said, I booted 'em into a corner to die. I was being a very bad Buddhist. Be glad you had all those troubles in the beginning - I suspect that if McCracken hadn't gone belly up, you wouldn't have had the LOVELY house you have now. Although a lot of that is due to your obvious taste and discernment! You got Dutch gables MJT? Sooo nice and pretty. But I let my head rule my heart and said I didn't want any exterior paint surfaces except eaves, which have to be. At least I can paint that myself when I'm old. I ain't climbin' no roof, though! I've been through the drawings again, for the fifty thousandth time, and they got it pretty right - It was just fiddly things, and we are a bit more demanding and 'unusual' in what we want from our house. Most people don't have three thousand and one hobbies - my hubby bought another guitar recently - and have all these weird excessive storage requirements. I get sick a lot, with my genetic thing, and sometimes need total bedrest for long periods, and so the bedroom had to be big enough to get a little table and chairs in there and a playstation and my knitting etc. Efficiency and ease of maintenance was everything ... our cloakroom is 3m x 3m for instance. I can shut the door on the tennis racquets and handbags and shoes etc and they will stay relatively dust free. If we have to sell it in our dotage, it can be a study, or even another bedroom, as the powder room is next door. My pantry is 2.5m x 4.25m, so all my appliances are at bench height, ready to be pulled out and put back in. Everything else is to hand - I just haven't the time or energy to waste ferretting around in cupboards. My linen press was the whole laundry on the plan... I might fiddle around on photobucket tonight and see if I can put up the plan - I'm dying to know what y'all think. It's not 'normal', but it very much suits us and the way we live. Off to the cactus society show at Felixstow tomorrow, hope I can pick up something unusual. If I can't have my English country garden, I'll be bugg€red if I don't have something weirdly interesting. Well, good luck and goodnight to everyone, hope you all have sweet dreams, (and none about bricks or tapware. AKA nightmares!) For reference, this is the Austlii reference.
