Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 03, 2016 3:36 pm Hey, i think this is the right place to post this We are currently building a new home and the builder has cut into the block which has stuffed up our existing retaining wall. The builder has gone and put a retaining wall in front of the current retaining wall without our permission but they have stop at the end of our alfresco. We believe they should have continued with the retaining wall all the way down the side (another 10 meters) but they are saying thats our problem and they have done enough Do you think its our problem to fix or the builder? Is your neighbour's retaining wall straight? Discuss with your builder based on current situation do you even need a retaining wall now that long. It looks like you don't as there is one already put in place by your neighbour on the other side of the fence. Re: Retaining Wall Issue 7Mar 04, 2016 10:21 pm How close is their retaining wall compared to yours? Ask them these questions to understand if levels would have changed at all on your end as a result. Based on your reply as other side retaining wall is straight then gap is even in-between both retainers, what your builder is saying doesn't seem to add up. Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5197 thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16294 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16159 |
