Thanks Hailey Yes, I think it will fit alright - will probably get a better idea once the brickwork starts going up ~ a friend of mine's partner is a whizz with woodwork stuff so I'm hoping he can help us out Otherwise I will definitely look at the DIY options on Pinterest and see how we go Haha!!! I love your home and have enjoyed looking through your progress pics and reading some of your thread. Thanks for popping by to follow my thread Building with New Generation Homes in Baldivis, WA 'Building Our New Home - Baldivis': viewtopic.php?f=31&t=82258&p=1513857#p1513857 Re: Building Our New Home - Baldivis, WA 47Apr 05, 2016 9:39 pm It's been a while since I last posted - in the mean time we have had all of the building materials delivered to site and I received an email from our site supervisor to inform us of who our brickie is - we've been told that rather than a team of brickies, we will have one guy working on our house. I'm not too phased, other than possibly taking a couple weeks longer, we have been assured that he has great attention to detail... I would just wonder if he gets lonely working on his own??? Anyway, I cannot wait to start seeing the walls come up!! A few pics of our site as it currently stands. That brickie must be super fit if he works on his own? Up and down getting bricks on his own. But it's good he had a care factor and attention to detail. You have a great sense of style so don't stress too much I don't know what you mean though. I'm still think about my kitchen cabinets Thanks for the update xx Our Easystart Build in Annie's Landing https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81061&p=1478674#p1478674 Re: Building Our New Home - Baldivis, WA 49Apr 06, 2016 1:18 am Oohh looking forward to seeing the progress!! Re: Building Our New Home - Baldivis, WA 50Apr 13, 2016 6:27 pm I popped by our block today and was very happy to meet our brickie who was SO friendly and informative! He was full of compliments re the design of our house and our chosen feature brick for our entryway - so that was very reassuring! I am much more at ease knowing that our home is in the hands of a brickie who prides himself on quality. He has said that it should take hime around 4 - 5 weeks to complete the brickwork, which is honestly fine by us as we are in no rush. He took me for a tour of his brickwork, showing me his workmanship and asking if I was happy with the result so far - what a nice guy! Apparently, we have a superb batch of bricks too, which are really great to work with - I am in no way an expert on bricks and did not really know there were good and bad batches - needles to say, I'm pretty chuffed that he is enjoying working with this batch! Huge bonus I managed to take a couple of photos - the back wall is underway and some window and door frames are in. Sweet! I'm still somewhat nervous about the size of the minor bedrooms They still seem TINY!!! Rear wall with ensuite and minor bedrooms' windows placed. YAY! We are meeting with our site supervisor at the end of this week to discuss the building schedule going forward. I had a minor panic about our kitchen window - when viewing it in person it seems too high on the wall. Anyway, when looking at our plans it's not very much higher than our current home's kitchen window and I suppose I need to take into consideration that the flooring and cabinets aren't yet installed and that too will make a big difference. Either way, I did contact our SS and spoke to our consultant who said that if we lower the window it will not line up with the highlight window and stacker doors, which may look odd and secondly, if we wanted to order a new window that would require another lintel to be installed and would add about 4weeks to the job?! Having looked at our plans, it should all work out OK - although I will be seriously upset if the window still seems strangely high on the wall once the build is complete. What is the measurement between your bench top and the your kitchen window sill? Ours measures 1286mm from benchtop to sill. I'd be interested to hear from others. TIA! It should have a pic of the kitchen looking at the sink/window. Then you could always do a Mock up of the dimensions and see if it works Re: Building Our New Home - Baldivis, WA 55Apr 27, 2016 12:04 am Hey Tam, it's looking good so far. I can't really give any insight to a kitchen window. Ours backs onto the laundry. In the mean time I'm busily getting quotes for fitted wardrobes, painting, landscaping etc! What a business.... cannot wait until it's all done and we can enjoy our new home. All is tracking fairly smoothly. We had a leaking outdoor tap but Summit was good about getting that fixed. The drains beneath the gutter pops at Alfresco were installed incorrectly but again Summit were very quick with getting that amended. Showers have been waterproofed and tiling is next.
