We are thinking of getting someone in to do it, is it much cheaper to do it yourself? We have had quotes of $2500 Thank you. For a double garage and doing all the steps (prep.kit including primer, epoxy coating kit and top coat sealer kit) cost about $900. I would recommend doing it. My car unfortunately drips a bit of oil and it just beads on top and I wipe it off with tissue paper. Can be slippery if there is water n it (car A/C) BUT it feels soooo clean. Not too hard to do either. We have an appointment with the State Manager on Monday before Fair Trading intervenes. How are you coming along? Gosh lovely I’m sorry it’s still dragging on. I’m in the process of submitting everything to Fair Trading too. I previously lodged a complaint and I’m proceeding with it now given even the national manager has become unresponsive. They are a bunch of dirtbags. Wonder if the state manager will do anymore for you than he did for me. All he did was walk around here with an iPad and promise to fix things, then I get an email telling me stuff that is damaged and poorly finished is ‘within tolerance’. Wayne from Coral one of the Managers attended. Hmmm...issues with the interpretation of the Australian Standards. Because our contract was issued before the start of 2017, the new standards don't apply. So they have to refer to the 2007 Guide...but it is unclear. We have lippage and that is going to be rectified but as far as the grout spacing over 50% of the tiled area is over 3mm and fixing that by replacing them will not fix the issue. Fair Trading will have an answer to us by Friday because he needs to talk to other professionals in the business. He also wants the Coral National Manager to come here. And so it continues... We have Wayne overseeing some things for us as SS has gone ahead with decisions he was suppose to consult with us on first is your lippage really bad? Ours is quite noticeable in ensuite and water flows back to walls rather than down drain (the tap was not connected properly when turned on & went all over floor). Everything is crossed it’s good news for you Fri but ridiculous they can’t use 2017 standards considering tiling wasn’t done until then ? Maintenance week came and went with hardly any of the outstanding issues rectified. Out of the 4 days they only worked two half days. Some of the work they did do needs to be fixed again. This is not to mention the problem with tiling. Fair trading has deemed it defective. The state manager requested that Kspec do an inspection and they picked up more faults on top of what FT did. At least 40% of the tiling needs to be ripped up. FT has set 19 May as the deadline. After my husband rang them regarding when the work would be starting (we need to move furniture and since we will not have access to the downstairs area including kitchen we need to sort stuff out!!!) we were given a possible start of 7th May. Still haven't heard back as to what will be happening, if they have sourced replacement tiles and what access they need and when. Kind of sounds like cr@p to me! I hope coral paid for k-spec! How do these people have any self-respect looking at defects and saying they are within tolerance?! That’s what NSw mgr did to me... took photos of all the defects on his iPad, then the next thing I know I’m getting emails from higher up telling me that it’s all within tolerance! Your tiling sounds like an absolute nightmare. Like my stairs, it’s like they don’t understand our homes aren’t construction sites anymore for them to come and go as they please, they are functioning bloody homes! Once they start how long do you have to be away for? I reckon out of the 7 weeks maintenance were here there was probably about 5 days work in it. Maybe why I have a tonne of stuff outstanding. You wonder how hard it is for them to tick off a god damn list! It’s so frustrating - you just wonder if anyone at all cares!
