Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 501May 05, 2017 9:12 pm How did things unfold today? Do you think it would be worth going and knocking on their door and having a chat? Maybe just explain that you appreciate that having a house being built next to you of course would be a bit of a pain but the quicker it progresses the sooner it's over? Maybe even give them your number and tell them to phone if there's any concerns about anything and assure them you're visiting the site regularly to ensure that everything is as it should be. It might be harder for them to be arseholes when you're actually there at their door. Even as poopy as I get, I blow up in emails at coral/driveway ******/curtain cow but I'm a self confessed keyboard warrior- I struggle to be as much of a tough nut to people in person. I know you probably feel like leaving something unsavoury on their doorstep but maybe an olive branch might go further... I dunno. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 I know where you're coming from. We go to the site everyday and really have nothing to complain about how the work is being done. The tradies were told to keep noise down an to watch their language and they have really been doing that from what I hear. Our neighbours are the typical ones that complain about anything they don't have control over. They cost the neighbours on the other side a fortune through delays. They are known liars and have been caught out one too many times. Council and WorkCover (Safe Work NSW) know of them from previous complaints. As soon as we turn up they start watering the gardens but have not approached us as they have rejected attending mediation (police suggested) after several verbal attacks and threats on their behalf. Head Office said that they are following procedure and that they should have had the cleaning done yesterday but when we went to the house we saw it had not been done which is understandable because we are not the only house in need of cleaning. Coral said that they will not be told how to run their business and Workcover support them. So we'll see next week. Not much point trying to be the bigger person when they clearly have no common sense or decency. It will be interesting to hear how it all goes down next week, hopefully Coral stick to there guns and those insanely friendly and accommodating neighbours of yours have a teaspoon of concrete and move in with there lives. (I'm sure you might like to shove one down there throats right about now ) Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 504May 24, 2017 5:32 pm Carpenters should be back tomorrow. Roof tiled next week. Someone has cut the 3-phase power cable for A/C. Who the heck would do that? The roof on the garage still has to go on and frame inspection yet to be done. This blinkin' weather isn't doing anyone any favours either. Funnily enough around the corner where we currently live there is a lot od building going on. There's a mojo going up and the ute has been there with workers everyday but the Bahama ... no one has been on site for a few days. The end of our contract is supposed to be 30th June YEAH RIGHT!!!! I honestly don't know how your staying so calm I would of lost my mind by now. Maybe coral lost all there calendars and they don't know the 30th is only a couple of weeks away? God damn they need to hurry the hell up. Have your crap head neighbours calmed down? Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 518Jun 09, 2017 6:10 am Whaaaaat? Gosh I didn't realise you were so far into the contacted build time! How la y days was your contract? Far out man. Yeah this weather had been absolutely crap. At least you'll have some pennies from liquidated damages! Particularly if they haven't been notifying you of rain days along the way... can't claim em at the end! C U S T O M. C O R A L. God damn they need to hurry the hell up. Have your crap head neighbours calmed down? Thanks Tribe Can't really do much about it. Luckily we are not renting and work/life keeps us busy. We do get frustrated though...maybe not vocal enough! The neighbours chucked up all this stink while they were in the process of waiting for settlement on their house. Yes, they had sold it and now, moved out. Leaves the other side now to fend for themselves rather than ganging up on us. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 LOL...our build time was 217 days start date was 25/11/16. Not sure if weekends are counted in those ( shut down days are not included because that was 'foreseen' ). Coral has not claimed any days yet. At this stage I would think they are about 3-4 weeks behind. When does Coral come to do your place? Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4338 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74701 |
