We haven't been to the house for a couple of days so today surprise surprise, all cabinetry has been not only delivered but installed. Architraves and skirting slowly getting done. Wardrobe shelves done. Most of them will get yanked out and replaced. Funny how we didn't actually think of a lot of details hmmmm.... Anyway here's a kitchen shot. Island is not in the right spot so emailed SS. Better now than later! Cabinetry is darker than what I thought. (photo makes it lighter). Not sure what the gap on top of the fridge is. In the plans it seems gyprocked. No biggy though. We increased ours to 1200 and wish we had put cupboards behind instead of having a void. Our cabinets also went in over the last couple of days and one of my kitchen colours wasn't what I was expecting either. I know not to go off a small colour sample again. Same with our bathroom tiles. They weren't what we were expecting either. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 650Aug 09, 2017 9:15 pm Yay!!! Love your kitchen colours. Still shocked your kitchen is only going in at 37 weeks!! My whole build was approx 44 weeks.. but by 37 weeks, it was nearly done ;-; I so feel for you. I just can't believe they aren't doing everything they can to get your build done. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 651Aug 09, 2017 10:08 pm Tamara1975 Corallake Ok so I take it back. The cornice goes right around in that space. Not too fussed just seemed odd. Our island is 3000X1400. We have 500 deep cabinets on the breakfast bar. It looks amazing!! When you say the island is in the wrong spot... too close to bench? Just looking at the cavity above the fridge- I would say they aren't gonna do the bulkhead because the cornice is on. They missed the entire bulkhead in my laundry! And the telltale sign was that it got corniced. Don't be afraid to ask for it to be rectified. I think you will be happier with it done right so it matches. And it won't cause delays Hi MrsJM On the plans it shows that it is gyprocked. The island is too close to the fridge cavity. We specifically requested no less than 1000mm after the 40mm caesarstone is on. As is, it's only 850mm. The pipes for water and waste are already in. We emailed both SS and AM and 5 minutes later the AM emailed us saying that he had put it on the SS to-do list. I didn't notice the cornice in the pic. Just checked our pics and we have a bulkhead above our fridge overhead cupboards. Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 656Aug 16, 2017 2:19 am Don't worry Coral, that space above fridge will have a bulkhead if it's in your plans. I had the same thing happen, they corniced my one and then several days later the guys came back and did the bulkhead. Btw your place looking awesome. All the best. I'm in two minds about whether to make them come and do my bulkhead above the laundry or not... I think I will You must be getting close to tiling...?? Is it worth the messing around? If it looks odd then go ahead but you know the drill... No tiling yet. The architraves aren't even finished. They've ripped off the gyprock and the cornice off from the top of the stairs because it doesn't line up. The wall in the spare room has to be re-gyprocked because they left out the bracing and it had a massive bulge. Jobs are so slow and the trades leave things unfinished and don't seem to come back to fix them like the roof is still not completed, it's been months... The SS doesn't really keep us in the loop and nor does he seem to chase the out-standing work to be done. It's getting me down and I'm starting to resent the whole thing.
