Just want the demo to happen and move forward. They keep saying 'in the nest two weeks'... so it's nearly four now. We have to give our neighbours 5 working days notice before asbestos is removed so that's just another week. Coral is getting impatient!. Demo people are not answering my calls or emails. Not sure whether to organise demo with another company but that will take weeks as well. Thankfully Coral is (up until now) being patient with us. Seriously, if we could, we would pull the blasted thing down.... CRANKY PANTS ON!!! Thanks Becs I see things are kind of moving along for you. How rude. Even if they were to answer and tell you they can't do it, you could make enquiries with others. I bet you do wish you could just get a sledge hammer and take to it yourself. Lol Yeh. Things seem to be progressing fairly well. Fingers crossed it keeps moving!! That's a real shame that they aren't answering. Have you signed a contract? I'm wondering if anyone else could fit you in... Do you have the council approval for the demo or did the company apply for it? I did mine as a complying development so not sure how council process works C U S T O M. C O R A L. B R O N T E. 43 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=79581 Hey MrsJM We applied for demo through council. We rung them on Friday and they said that if we change company all we need to do is write them a letter informing them of the change. Obviously they need to be licensed for asbestos removal and all the Aboriginal Heritage Impact report has been done so would be pretty straight forward to switch, but we probably will have a few weeks wait anyway. We'll have to talk to the demo guy tomorrow and hopefully he will be able to come through for us. Fingers crossed! At this stage (weather permitting) demo starts on Wednesday next week. Asbestos (external walls) will be started Tuesday. Hope neighbours don't give them a hard time. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13718 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 1681 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74219 |
