Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 21Apr 06, 2016 9:29 pm Bugger Bugger Bugger. Have they noted what compromise or outcome they would be happy with or is it just a flat out objection? My colleague had a similar issue recently when he had 9 neighbours object to his plans because of 'view obstruction' and the council ended up telling them all to rack off... So it's not game over yet. Everything complies. And our balcony is 9 metres away from his house and really??? I don't want to look at their mugs anyway. It'll be right even though I hate making decisions...I change my mind so much. I do like 'cool' colours, fresh crisp feel as I love that minimalist sterile look however I do want a house that feels homely hence the warmer tones... and we agree on this as a family. We have a deposit down on a promotion for a completely built Bronte 40 - However, the kitchen and laundry is fairly small for a 5 bedroom home so we're thinking of modifying the Bronte, as well as adding a second living/lounge room but we don't want to overcapitalize. Thanks. Also, your façade and colour choice looks amazing by the way. It's a pity about the length of the build. I hope you'd stipulated liquidated damages on your contract. We had our colour apt on Tuesday. Today we contacted them to make changes to bench tops and cabinetry. I thought they would have been more helpful but once again we were disappointed that all they wanted was for us to sign the paperwork ASAP. But I'm happy with choices... for now anyway lol. Both our neighbours have lodged objections/concerns with our plans. So peeved.... It was just sign sign sign and the consultant just tried to minimise the paperwork and changes to get us out. And yep it's scary having to sign off immediately! You almost need a pre-appointment lol. What's the other neighbour complained about!?!? You'd think after having been through the building process themselves with your other neighbour lodging an objection that they wouldnt bother unless it was something significant M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 31Apr 28, 2016 12:31 pm maccar333 Hi can I ask what the promotion cost of the standard Bronte and your modified Bronte is? I think it cost us about 18K to stretch one metre lengthwise. It is more difficult and expensive to stretch widthwise. Actually both neighbours have submitted complaints. Submissions were closed last Friday. I haven't heard anything from council yet a part from it being under assessment. I don't really want screening on the balcony. It comes off our bedroom not like we'll be having BBQ's and throwing cans over there. And the other side is concerned about the noise from the water tank pump, proximity to the fence (we are within guidelines) and the shading. See what happens I guess. Does anyone have any recommendations? Don't panic yet. Some of that screening is really lovely. There are regulations though about visibility through the screens i think. I know with ours there were really specific about how far apart the louvres were. I found this in your local Development Plan. Assuming you have these options available you could look at decorative timber or metal screening that still lets in light and air. And maybe in a terrible 'Storm' one night the screening might get 'damaged' significantly and you might just not get around to replacing it for a while Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Re: Coral Homes - Modified Bronte 40May 10, 2016 7:34 am Corallake Variation is back!!!! I would get my entire final tender re checked item by item if I could. There's something weird with their system. I was overcharged $1k for internal door upgrade, $2k overcharged for skirting upgrade and more than $3k overcharged for my kitchen bench. Definitely query it. Maybe you will be a bit closer to your $10k if they double check their maths M Y C U S T O M C O R A L B R O N T E 43 ...............Kitchen! 16 Nov 2016 https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=79581 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption.
