Browse Forums Building A New House Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 22Feb 29, 2016 2:08 pm We are looking at building in the Macedon Ranges (about 60km from the CBD). We would have loved to build a bit closer, but the block sizes were just so small (for the price) and we really wanted to build from the Allure range. Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 26Mar 05, 2016 9:42 pm SJ_house13 I think its just the angle. It's 14m x 32m! I have 'Ideal Std tonic Back to wall soft close seat' in my catalogue, might be a Melb to Geelong difference, or maybe I need to go test out the porcher If you don't mind me asking, how much was the upgrade to the neptune sink? We went the AFA extact but I'm always questioning the no drainer board. The separate drainer board for the AFA is top of my birthday list this year Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 31Mar 07, 2016 10:51 am Oh wow the standard inclusions from the Allure range are really nice. I can also see a few upgrades from your photos that we would like. Bank are you also building from the Allure range? I have a download which shows the costs of upgrades. They may be slightly different as it is part of the King size upgrade promo (so not sure if they have had any cost increases). It has listed Porcher Cygnet btw as the standard for Allure. Im not sure about the sink cost though, it doesn't have that sink listed on my sheet. Signed up last May so prices do seem to be quite different to the current promo (I downloaded it for a stickybeak), but presumably if we upgrade anything now they would charge new prices. I'm unlikely to change anything at this point but that doesn't stop me thinking about it Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 33Mar 07, 2016 12:32 pm TBH I don't really know which toilet we are getting. we had a really old brochure (and by old, it still had my style on it!) that said the Ideal suite, but the new Kingsize upgrade says it's the Porcher. I've assumed it's the latter but I could be entirely incorrect. That said, it looks like a few things have changed since we signed up. For e.g. it seems from the kingsize upgrades that brick in fills above the garage door are included and the dishwasher is now a Westinghouse. I'll PM you with our sink upgrade. Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 34Mar 07, 2016 7:42 pm I know this will sound silly, but we are first home buyers and builders. What do we need to organise before contract? I feel like we are driving our consultant nuts with all the questions we have, I don't want to ask the poor guy another question. We paid a deposit and he said the build price will be held for 7 months as long as we are at contract stage by then. Our land settles in 90 days, so I know we can't get soil tests done yet. Not silly at all! We're in the same boat as you so I'm flying blind as to what happens and when but it's smart to ask here so those that have just been through it can give any tips. I've asked lots of questions to sales and admin along the way but there never seems to be a set order or way things are done and the answers change (in geelong at least). Most of the time you will have access to your land to do soil tests before it titles, jgking will get notified when its ready, but we were told to give them a heads up if we see its ready just in case. Then they can determine your site costs and organise your contract for the bank before titles (hopefully). If you're keen to get building asap, keep them moving, speed isn't their stong point, and lots of bumps can pop up in the road so 90 days will disappear very quickly! Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 36Mar 08, 2016 11:16 am There are no silly questions ask them every thing and more to get the answers you need remember you are handing them a big fist of cash to build your home. This is our second home but first build it is so different to buying established. Kings were able to get access to our land about 3 weeks before titles. They were able to do it after the block had council approval. Just keep moving along so you can be close to ready at titles. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 37Mar 10, 2016 5:23 pm Delay after delay. This time because neighbouring builds have decided to remove our boundary pegs. Now we are facing the cost of having our block re-pegged. So angry and absolutely disgusted. Re: JG King Hartwell - Melbourne western suburbs 38Mar 10, 2016 6:06 pm Ah that sucks go and see if you.can.see the peg marks and just put them back in. We got questioned about ours which were still in even though we were told they werent. Ours were double marked too one with a peg sticking out of the ground and a marker at ground level. If they are still there or you can put them in take pictures and send them to your admin.
