Browse Forums Building A New House Metricon Henderson 42 81Apr 17, 2016 9:45 pm It might be worth asking M if they have any contacts at your council that they can get in touch with to see why there is such a long delay. I believe M has contacts (independent of your DA assessing officer) at some local councils in NSW that they can speak to when there are unresolved issues. I've got my selections on the 9th of May so I'll be able to find out the price of shaker style cabinets in Melb. Re: Metricon Henderson 42 83Apr 27, 2016 8:57 am Neville S M and T Feeling a bit disappointed today, just had a big vent on my M blog. M had promised our plans would go into council this week and surprise surprise it didn't happen. I just don't understand how they can justify the extensive delays in their admin, drafting and estimating departments? They keep telling me our plans are getting drafted but the plans were already drafted for contract signing. I understand additional plans such as shadow diagrams need to be prepared also but it's almost been 8 weeks now since contract signing and still nothing. Did anyone else have such a long period between contract signing and lodgement to council? On a happier note I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter long weekend! I'm off to enjoy some delicious hot cross buns for breakfast... Welcome to our version of the Metricon Henderson viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Yep we had about 9 weeks until submitted to council. And it has been with council for about 9 weeks . We moved out 3 months ago and land was ready for Metricon 2 months ago as per the contract requirements, so annoyed and still waiting. My thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77665 There is usually a clause in the contract that allows M to increase the fees if build doesn't start 240 days from when you provided the initial deposit. Would that still apply if M takes 9 weeks to submit the plans after the contract is signed? That is my biggest worry cause it's beyond our control and there's no knowing whether council will require changes which would cause even more delays (we are not going through cdc). I all depends on each case, M have been pretty fair so far but the waiting is killing me.
