Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Thanks M&T. I did the same thing with my garage door. Re: Metricon Henderson 42 408Apr 07, 2017 8:00 am Very excited today as have just found someone who can paint our garage door with 2Pac to match the rest of our Lexicon Half facade! Was really stressing about our Surfmist garage door, it looks way too creamy against the rest of our facade. Apparently you can colour match to any Dulux colour and the cost is around $800 - which I'm happy to pay to have it looking better. It apparently lasts a lot longer than a powdercoat and can be done on site. Very relieved. Welcome to our new Metricon Henderson http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81978 https://metriconhenderson.wordpress.com Nice, now I have to paint the whole exterior in LQ. But to do this will prob cost $4-5k @Orph Build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Home Furniture: viewtopic.php?t=80551 Technology Hub: viewtopic.php?t=83663 Landscape Design: viewtopic.php?t=80645 Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Metricon Henderson 42 411Apr 19, 2017 8:15 am A bit of an update on our build...nothing much has really happened on site in the last month other than things getting removed because of incorrect installation. Tiling around our bathtub has been ripped out and bathtub pulled out because there was supposed to be a polyurethane panel installed on the side of the bath. Now the manufacture of the panel is supposedly holding up most of anything else getting done inside the home. Front steps were extremely ******* looking so have been removed. New steps will be bricked and rendered eventually. Holes were drilled into our powder room stone benchtop for our mixer which is actually supposed to be wall mounted. As a result tiles have had to be pulled off the wall and stone benchtop removed and remanufactured. Not yet re-installed. Board was placed behind the spot where our mirror should be instead of tiles even though we paid for full height tiling. Uneven tiling in laundry still requires removal and re-alignment. Skirting upstairs is chipped and requires removal and replacement at parts. Some of our windows don't actually open???!! Our timber stacker sliders have been installed incorrectly so that the panels scrape against each other when opened and closed. As a result there are long scratches in the paintwork. Our insulation is actually exposed at some parts on the home exterior??!! Someone tried to flush concrete down our toilets?? Not to mention I specifically requested my toilets to be taped shut and there has been urine and excrement left all over the bowl unflushed since they were installed. I have taken pictures of all of this and requested a replacement of my toilets. Flashing outside of home looks uneven and *******. Workmanship is extremely poor for a $730K contract. I am now at the point where I have requested all further communication with Metricon be documented in writing so that we can prove the issues that have been raised. There's just no point verbally discussing things on site, nothing seems to be getting resolved this way. I also have a list of many other defects that need to be rectified. I could go on and on but this would be a really really long post. Official finish date as per 42 week contract is 10th May. Apparently we have had over 40 rain days so far. Perhaps I'll post some pics of the defects on my blog to show the ******* Metricon workmanship. That might help them spring into action. I hope they get all issues sorted for you asap!!! My hubby escalated things to management at Geelong Metricon office but we only had his details from him stepping in during our crappy admin phase so might be a bit trickier getting passed up to your one!? Re: Metricon Henderson 42 413Apr 19, 2017 8:42 am Wow, that's awful M and T! Hope they get everything sorted out for you. Hope they sort out all of your issues in a timely manner. It's ridiculous to get any sort of poor workmanship when you're paying any arm and a leg in costs! Re: Metricon Henderson 42 417Apr 19, 2017 1:58 pm Oh no M&T! I can't begin to imagine your anger and frustration. That just sounds so awful and upsetting, to think you are getting close and then to have get so many things re-done again. Really feel for you. :(:( Have you got upper management involved? Sounds like you are not getting anywhere with your SS. Hope things get sorted soon. Metricon Henderson 42 418Apr 19, 2017 2:06 pm That's really bad. I wanna know what tradies and Sm do they have working for them? They should have a meeting with all tradies. Demanding that no one uses the clients toilets. Seems like they do this regular. So sorry they are putting you through this. I'm still at admin stage. Waiting for post contract variation for 2mths. I thought that was bad enough. And was hoping the building would be better. viewtopic.php?t=86597 Re: Metricon Henderson 42 419Apr 19, 2017 9:08 pm M&T Sorry to hear about all the issues you are having. I was just having a go at the exact same "poor workmanship" on the other thread that applies to this same situation. "This sort of poor workmanship really gets me going. I blame the construction manager! Why didn't he/she check the quality of the work as it is happening rather then admitting to it after the event. Like with most jobs we have/do in our lives. It's get checked on a regular bases before it gets signed off and moved to the next part. I can't help but feel that they try to get away with it during the process and only deal with it when someone complains about it. " We are building to a similar budget and would total lose it in your situation. I hope it get resolved soon. I also believe the construction manager should be taking some responsibility in this situation. At the end of the day someone from Metricon needs to have some form of accountability. Everyone seems really eager to blame someone else very quickly. The poor relationship and communication between departments internally at Metricon and also with their external suppliers really concerns me. Metricon supposedly has a number of different quality checks before the build progresses to each stage so we've requested evidence that these checks were actually completed. You would cringe at some of the pictures I've taken. It's just embarrassing for Metricon.
