Hi Vanessa, Ours didn't change, but they were high to begin with at $45,000. Who are you building with? Re: KNock Down Rebuild 4Jun 20, 2017 10:44 am Porter Davis What design did you go with? Where are you building? They initially told us (at the very start before any soil tests) to allow for 50k site costs as that's the norm so when it came in at 45k after soil tests we were fine with that. Re: KNock Down Rebuild 5Jun 20, 2017 10:46 am In saying that I'm still surprised it's so much as our block is totally flat and no rock or anything. But we are in a 1 in 100 year flood zone so they have to build it up a bit and our soil is P class soil. Re: KNock Down Rebuild 6Jun 20, 2017 3:03 pm nikil Porter Davis What design did you go with? KNock Down Rebuild 8Jun 20, 2017 4:11 pm vanessal Hi There Did anyone's site costs go up dramatically after the second soil test? am getting a little nervous. Ours went down by over $5000 but it is building on new vacant land, not a knock down rebuild. - View my blog at http://www.waldorfgrangebuild.wordpress.com Re: KNock Down Rebuild 9Jun 21, 2017 7:54 am All depends on what they allocate to begin with and how transparent they are. Our first builder misled us and we had P soil type so costs went up $27k! They won't even tell us what was initially allocated. We are with Arden now, they allocated $40k as they knew it would be P type as it's a KDR, and ours have come down 7k. Flat block but loads of fill so have to go down 3m in some sections and use piers. Friends are building with PD and it seems like they also have good allocations for site costs at the start so hopefully you'll be ok. Good luck! We've had the offer of a short term tenant whilst waiting for CDC/DA home approval and demolition for our knock down rebuild. It would achieve a pretty low rent as it's… 0 14787 I'm on that journey. I had to demolish a single story brick veneer on concrete raft slab about 220 sq meters for about $19k. They took forever to get a permit and I… 2 1955 5 7093 |
