Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Allcastle Homes 2Feb 02, 2016 8:13 am We're going through a tender now. I was worried about all those reviews. Then I read the ones for some of the other builders, there's some choice shockers there as well. Is like to think that I am a rationale logical type of person. Nothing's smelling too fishy so far....but early days. I did meet someone who were well ahead in their building at the display home, they didn't have any complaints, but from listening to him, he seems to know a few tricks of the trade (e.g. Getting his own hydraulics engineering report for less than half of what Allcastle wanted to charge). Take this with a grain of salt, but the sales guy did admit that a couple of years ago, they just didn't have capacity to handle it all but maybe that's better now? I'll start up a thread once we start building! Seriously, read through some of the other builders reviews. Very insightful. Re: Allcastle Homes 3Feb 02, 2016 8:40 am Hello, I just signed up the $995 soil test and survey with All Castle Homes. The reason i started with them is because i liked their house design. Iam still in a preliminary stage learning and understanding their inclusions and charges. Are you building in NSW? or other states? ZC Re: Allcastle Homes 4Feb 02, 2016 9:49 pm Zc, where are you building? I'm planning KDR in Winston Hills in western Sydney. Re: Allcastle Homes 6Feb 03, 2016 10:41 am Hmm I would be very careful of them. We had some very shady dealings with them before going to another builder. I also know of some completely d@dgy work their tradies have done. Re: Allcastle Homes 8Feb 04, 2016 12:46 pm zc12345 thanks for the cautious note. How did you rectify your situation? Went to another builder who honoured the $995 we had paid to Allcastle. They never even called to find out why we didn't go ahead. Re: Allcastle Homes 9Feb 07, 2016 8:52 pm Klb, I'd love to know of your experience, can I contact you via PM? Re: Allcastle Homes 10Feb 07, 2016 9:32 pm onetonnesam Klb, I'd love to know of your experience, can I contact you via PM? No problems Re: Allcastle Homes 11Feb 12, 2016 1:47 pm We're building with allcastle grandworth 40 mk3 in Baulkham Hills (KDRB) and couldn't be happier so far. The brickwork's are half done at the moment and everything is going smoothly from our pov. We had a two week delay on the bricks which wasn't their fault - and it rained most of that time anyway. They've been very upfront with costs, and timetable. The site supervisor is great and we get weekly updates (where relevant) we only live around the corner from the site, so get to see a lot of whats going on. I was daunted a bit about building a new house, but its really been a breeze so far. I think it helps if you're not a moron though, as we've heard some horror stories about the way clients treat their builders. A few cold drinks and ice blocks on a hot day or some morning tea for the builders go a long way !! Re: Allcastle Homes 14Nov 09, 2016 8:37 pm I have to say I was sh*t scared by all the internet posts. However, I don't think we've had any issues to date. Frame is up and they are bricking up now. Re: Allcastle Homes 15Apr 18, 2019 2:54 pm onetonnesam how did the build go with allcastle? Are you happy with the quality? Was it hard to get them to fix errors? Re: Allcastle Homes 16Apr 18, 2019 7:46 pm Bao Nguyen @onetonnesam how did the build go with allcastle? Are you happy with the quality? Was it hard to get them to fix errors? Can’t complain! Some things took a little longer than expected as they had to line up their contractors, but none of these were urgent. Pretty good and happy with what we got! Hi we are looking to talk to people who have built with them recently. We have signed mid range built contract but identified that a lot of things are not included.… 0 720 Was the offer also on their website? If so, you could check the Wayback Machine. 1 693 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74702 |
