Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Moving in ready or not! | Custom framed home WA 148Aug 16, 2016 12:04 am Thanks Robina ![]() Heading into our third night in and the house is still a mess (albeit a slowly reducing mess) and I am shattered! We have sworn that we are NEVER moving again. Not sure we'll be able to get the furniture out after neighbours build us in anyway. Re: Moving in ready or not! | Custom framed home WA 150Aug 16, 2016 10:56 am Haha the furniture could be a problem if you ever want to update... cut the old stuff up with a chainsaw and buy flat packed stuff to assemble in situ? It's amazing how non-"downstairs" your kitchen seems (except when viewed looking down from the stairs that is) just because it gets plenty of light thanks to it's orientation - are you going to get shaded out by neighbours/fencing with where it sits at all? I feel like I need a couple of days off to get it sorted but we'll make do with some hours after work. I don't think we'll get too much shade in the kitchen. We're higher than our rear neighbours. The window near the dining / laundry will get blocked eventually but I am hoping that it doesn't make too much difference to the overall feel. We didn't have any time off and it is showing. We still haven't managed to give the house a proper clean. Hoping to get it all knocked over this afternoon so we can sit back and enjoy the space guilt free tonight. Hopefully some finished photos with the shutters in tonight. Re: Moving in ready or not! | Custom framed home WA 157Aug 21, 2016 9:59 pm Not much luck getting everything done but we have progress. I think I have gotten rid of the first layer of building grime from the house.
