Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 124Jul 28, 2016 8:54 pm And the newest news is that the roller blinds are ready to install. They want to put them in next Wed! Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 126Jul 30, 2016 5:31 pm Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 127Jul 31, 2016 10:40 pm The skirting has been painted. Next weekend I will get to see it in place! All the extras are being booked: - first lot of blinds on the 2 Aug - bamboo and skirting going in over the 3 - 5 Aug - carpet goes in on the 8 Aug - air con installation on the 8 Aug Meanwhile work is going insane and work is still underway at the house. Despite this, the real estate knows we are moving out and the truck has been booked. Two week count down is on!! Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 128Jul 31, 2016 11:29 pm And just now I got confirmation that our clothesline is ready to go in. Custom line for a custom house Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 129Aug 01, 2016 12:44 am Haha we don't even know where we're going to put a clothesline yet - thinking of a hills hoist style but removable so it's not set up all winter. It'll be visible no matter where we put it since the living/dining/kitchen have windows in each direction to the back yard. What are you doing for the clothesline that's so custom - or do we have to wait and see? Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 130Aug 01, 2016 7:58 am Ha ha. It's not very fancy. It's a simple fold down line (well I assume it folds down). With space so tight and it being attached to the frame it seemed easier and more likely to maximise the hanging space. Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 131Aug 01, 2016 9:25 am Sounds like a very busy time. We're doing the same thing skylights going in this morning. Flooring tomorrow blinds next week. Only 10 more sleeps. Hope it all goes well for you. Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 132Aug 01, 2016 10:05 pm Oooo-oooohhh!! I didn't realise you were this far along already! How exciting! Are you over it, yet? How does the Bianco Drift look in the kitchen? (If you still have that choice). The pics look great - I luuurve that grey weatherboard. I would have white for the door - so crisp looking on grey. What did you choose? Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 133Aug 01, 2016 10:11 pm Nevermind -just saw your pics of BDrift.... soooo glad I went with that, myself. I really love the look in your place. Hope it looks that good in ours! I wish you bundles of raw energy over the next few weeks. Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 134Aug 01, 2016 10:17 pm JayaJaya Oooo-oooohhh!! I have been very much over it many, many times over the last few months. We are so close to the finish line now that it is exciting again. We do have the Bianco Drift (a couple of pics are on page 5) and I am love . I can't wait to have the protective covering taken off. We did end up going with the white for the front door too. You are right, it seems so clean and bright. Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 135Aug 02, 2016 9:37 pm LetThisBeAGoodIdea Ha ha. It's not very fancy. Just a rectangular one? That would actually work for us I think, next to the kitchen splashback window - you'd see it if your had clothes out but with it folded down you wouldn't see it from the kitchen/dining/living. Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 136Aug 03, 2016 1:18 pm Yep SileNceR, just a rectangular fold down. We looked at buying a retractable one from Bunnings that we could have going along the back fence but in the end I wasn't keen on it. Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 137Aug 03, 2016 1:21 pm Hit send too quick . I'll send a pic when it is in. In the way of pics, the bamboo has started and the fabric blinds have mostly gone in Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The blinds have come up more beige in the pic. I'm guessing it is the sand in the backyard. Turns out that finishing the flooring will cost an extra $2400 Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 139Aug 03, 2016 8:56 pm If that's what they quoted, that's what you should pay... NOT your fault that they did it wrong, I'm sure that's the legal view as well - but it depends if you've got the energy to fight it. Do you still have the hard copy of the quote? It really is their responsibility to provide a correct quote. What would they do if you don't have the money left? Stop work, I guess? What a mess - I feel for you Re: Paint, power and fittings| Custom framed home WA 140Aug 03, 2016 9:55 pm I'm not sure how they can change the price when you've already accepted the quote and they've started the job?? What is their reasoning? Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil. It will look 10 years younger and add value to your home.
