I'm pretty excited. I have to give Simonds some credit. They do rectify things when you're unhappy. This journey is full on and is hard to trust. But so far everything is going well.

Lol. The frame is actually really good. Lesson is don't assume when you know nothing about building lol. Anyways ego bruised a little. They have also done electrical and plumbing and finished the roof. I'm pretty excited I'm hoping they start doing the bricks soon... As they are just sitting there The master bedroom looks really small but I hear a lot of people say they think their slab looks small. Don't stress too much about the bricks not getting done, now that the roof is on they can start all the inside stuff and the bricks will just happen - that's exactly how our place went (and the other Simonds house on our street). Unlike our neighbours place. I have no idea what the delay is with them, they started a few weeks after us and they're only at plaster (actually you have nearly caught up to them). Your rooms are definitely going to change size! Our master bedroom seemed to change shapes even! (At one point it looked really long & skinny!). Thankfully we had been through the display a tonne of times (and had lots of pictures) so I was confident with how it would look. It was still hard to imagine how the house we were building was going to turn into a house like the display though! We built the Rathdowne with Simonds Express in Western Melbourne Site start Oct. 2015 Keys Jan. 25th, 2015 My build thread -here- Re: Simonds Prague Willow Vale QLD 48Feb 20, 2016 10:21 pm Megera [ Don't stress too much about the bricks not getting done, now that the roof is on they can start all the inside stuff and the bricks will just happen - that's exactly how our place went (and the other Simonds house on our street). I wish the display was close by because my husband hasn't even seen the display. The displays are so nice. When we first looked at the displays the sale consultant told us that the house we wanted has a display only half hour up the road. So I took my mother inlaw, it literally took two hours to get there. Then another two hours back. Was a bit of a nightmare lol Re: Simonds Prague Willow Vale QLD 50Feb 24, 2016 5:16 pm I wish I chose different bricks. They chip too easy and the colour is a wash and comes off Re: Simonds Prague Willow Vale QLD 52Feb 24, 2016 6:34 pm I'm not sure, I just went, "I'll have that one" because I liked it. I didn't think about practicality. They are pretty Re: Simonds Prague Willow Vale QLD 54Feb 26, 2016 11:02 am Everything is going so fast week 6 half way through Re: Simonds Prague Willow Vale QLD 55Mar 10, 2016 10:30 am We are at lockup stage, yay! Funny story is that we found out by getting a bill, lol. As usual I got mixed up, because the stage on the app says we're only a third way through the stage. Turns out the progress payment is a different stage to the stages on the app. But that's ok because they're doing all our retaining walls. I'm pretty sure they're only meant to be doing one but because the contract was vague they're going to do both. It just said the retaining wall are included, no price, no drawings. But my husband is also a miracle worker. Honest to god he can get blood out of a stone. I think he has missed his calling as a sales rep or as a negotiator I'm pretty deflated about the build. It's been a really long journey with loads of issues. Mainly to do with the land. Once Easter arrives it will have been two years since we started this journey. The build has been a lot quicker. It's week 8. Crazy stuff. We've even passed some other builds in the area that started before Christmas. I'm still in shock to be honest. It's terribly nice of them. This builder just wants everyone to be happy. No fuss. A quick easy build. Re: Simonds Prague Willow Vale QLD 56Mar 10, 2016 11:12 am kyliebsmith We are at lockup stage, yay! Anyone know when the $11,000 limit was set in legislation for renovations in QLD? Ive been renovating for 5 years now and this was the limit back then.
