Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 28, 2016 3:56 pm Hi Everyone, I chose a demolition company on the middle of December by signing quote and other documents they required for rebuilding a PD Waldorf house. PD offered me a couple of $k based on February site start and the guy verbally promised the demolition can be completed by the end of this month or next week. However, I couldn't reach him via any channels recently and there's no any record regarding demolition permit in our city council. It's really helpless and he never replies me when I repeatedly ask his schedule of demolishing my house. I was told by a guy in city council counter that I can't change demolition company because there might be two different building surveyors involved, which will break civil law. Has everyone run into a similar situation and changed demolition companies? Thanks. Re: Can I change demolition company after signing their quot 2Jan 28, 2016 5:23 pm what state are you in? Everything seemed fine but we did lose our deposit with the initial company. Re: Can I change demolition company after signing their quot 5Jan 29, 2016 2:45 pm BbsWaldorf Victoria. Thanks. In Vic once building surveyor has been appointed you cannot change without special application however that does not apply to the contractor. You can apply for ammendment to BP to change contractor appearing on it. If I was you I would be checking that demolisher you engaged is registered for if not then no demolition permit is possible. I've contacted another demolisher and was told they need to contact the building surveyor to change the demolition permit to associate with their license. By the way, the demolisher I hired is registered as they demolished a house in my neighborhood recently. Thanks. Been in a similar position and we decided to let the builder go.
