We've been waiting a minimum of 2 weeks already and no sign of it. Every step on this KDR has had problems, delays, and costs associated with it. No closer to build unfortunately. I've rung countless times to get updates on the Energy Rating and nothing. I've tried to chase up this Work Zone Permit with the council (back in my bad books) and nothing. Really struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and the build hasn't even started yet. I'm still not there, but closer! Once the build starts its such a relief. If I had know how hard it was going to be (KDRB) I'm not sure I would have done it, but in saying that - I'm so excited to move (hopefully soon ) Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Contracts Signed 47Feb 29, 2016 1:48 pm Thanks Donovans. It'll be nice when things finally start moving again. This Admin stuff is just never ending. How far from handover are you now? Have there been some delays? Follow my MainVue build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81716 Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Contracts Signed 48Mar 01, 2016 12:09 pm I think (hope) we are only days away... But who knows. We walked through last night, but still some paint we want fixed up and where the flood damage was we aren't happy with the fix, also the cleaning effort was pretty poor. But getting there.... It's such a massive expense we aren't going to sign off until we are happy (as hard as that is. Lol) Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Contracts Signed 49Mar 03, 2016 8:36 am Finally got our Energy Rating back, and looks like we'll have to kick in another $830 for another insulation upgrade. The extra fees just never stop! Also had some issues in getting our Work Zone Permit. The council have knocked it back and said it's not a requirement. MainVue still want it, so we're waiting to hear how this is all going to pan out. The waiting is slowly eroding our enthusiasm for this build. I went through so many emotions, there were times I just wanted to walk away - and the strain it put on our marriage made it seem even less important. But - I just picked up my keys!!! I almost cried (I did once I got in the car. Lol) it's been two years of an emotional roller coaster. I feel so exhausted, and I'm finding it hard to believe it's real. I keep waiting for someone to wake me up from my dream/nightmare. Hang in there - you will get there. I think part of my problem was an unrealistic expectation of time. I seriously thought we were going to spend Christmas 2014 in the house - how stupid, we didn't even make 2015. Lol. But honestly, the best advice a friend gave me was just take one step at a time, cross each item off a list as you go. Eventually the list gets shorter (then it becomes a new list of "things I want to buy." Lol) It will be worth it - even though it does't feel like it right now! Blog: http://www.dapplegrey.com.au Thanks for the message Donovans! It's hard to think of the end result sometimes because you're stuck in the present dealing with some small issue. It's easy to let the problems cause you frustration. Our expectations on build time were also well out of whack. We originally thought we would be in well before Christmas last year, and I guess that unrealistic expectation is what is causing us to think that we are running so late on the build. We're just desperate to have our own house again. We'll get there; slowly slowly That's fantastic news about getting the keys! I image we wont be hearing from you for a while as you move in and really make the place your own. Enjoy it! Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Waiting on Works Zone Permit 58Mar 17, 2016 3:49 pm snyde Score, not long now, then the real fun begins! Cheers Snyde. I'm reserving any excitement because it might still be a couple of weeks away from getting this Works Zone Permit back from council. But at least I know I have no more major hurdles left to go Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Waiting on Works Zone Permit 59Mar 23, 2016 7:44 pm Still absolutely no word from MainVue about what they are doing, or what we're waiting on at the moment. We've been getting very frustrated over the last couple of weeks, really feel like MainVue are taking us for a ride. No one else in the suburb has had to apply for this permit, Council say we don't need it, and anyone from the area knows it's definitely not required. It's normally only used on big high density developments on city streets. We are in a side street in the suburbs. We have no idea if they've even submitted the request to the council, as we just keep getting "nothing to update" from our Admin. My complaints are falling on deaf ears. I asked for a Manager to call me, and nothing. And to add insult to injury, because this saga has been going on for so long now, the ovens we chose are discontinued. Now MainVue want us to pay the difference for the new model, to the tune of $1750. After all the extras and upgrades we are paying for, you'd think it would be good customer service to just give us the newer model at no cost. Nothing. All this and the build hasn't even started yet. I'll be happy to eat my words if they call me to resolve these problems tomorrow, but I won't hold my breath on that happening. Follow my MainVue build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81716 Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Waiting on Works Zone Permit 60Mar 23, 2016 8:22 pm That's so disappointing for you (to put it politely). I would think if council say you don't need it...then you don't need it... We had some trouble early on in the MainVue process with confusion about exactly what planning application was required. It held us up for a month but your situation is dragging on far longer which sucks As for the oven, yeah it would be nice for a bit of goodwill to be displayed there. I remember getting to the 'I can't do this anymore' stage.... It was so tempting to sell our block and buy a house we could just move in to but it's truly a distant memory now...
