Looking forward to your build Thanks Tanvi. How far down the road of building have you gone so far? We are almost there to be honest! The tiling and rendering have been finished over the last couple of weeks but Mainvue is being a pain with regards to any sort of NHP date or handover plan..oh well, just seems like a waiting game now! You just got the plasters in right? Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 284Jul 10, 2016 7:33 pm tanvi.lamba01 camma18 tanvi.lamba01 Hi there! You've got an awesome looking house there!! You just got the plasters in right? Oh wow, so how has the journey been so far? We found the beginning a bit painful, but we've honestly had nothing to complain about since the first couple of weeks of our build. Our SS has been awesome, and the Admin has been getting better as we go along. So what's the hold up in getting your NHP date? Are they waiting on something specific? Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 285Jul 10, 2016 7:37 pm For us the start was really good but the SS has been changed twice and everything is happening at a dead slow pace. Don't really know what the hold up is. They did say that they were waiting for the rain to stop so that the electrician could start working. One thing I would recommend though is try and go through an independent building inspector(if you aren't already). It does bring up defects that you would never notice otherwise Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 286Jul 10, 2016 7:51 pm That's a huge living space Cam, bricks are looking sick too! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81627&p=1505759#p1505759 Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 287Jul 10, 2016 7:55 pm tanvi.lamba01 For us the start was really good but the SS has been changed twice and everything is happening at a dead slow pace. I've always said that communication is the one area that they've never really excelled in. Yeah we've had an inspector check through the build at each of the stages. The defects have been relatively minor, so I guess we've had some decent trades. I hate seeing people on this forum have a bad experience. It's a stressful time going through the build process so it makes it harder when you're having trouble with the builder. I hope they sort out the remainder of your build soon so you can get your NHP date and at least know what you're working towards. Definitely the effect we were looking for. We're hanging to see what it all looks like when the kitchen goes in. How's things progressing with your build? Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 289Jul 10, 2016 7:58 pm Tad slow week but still progress so can't really complain plumbing all done wires for the motorised blinds in and that's it. It's the last walk through of the house with the builder before the final payment is made and the keys are handed over. It's the best day on the building calendar Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 292Jul 14, 2016 7:08 am Nice brick choice. Your place is looking huge! Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 294Jul 14, 2016 7:36 am It is, must be getting excited! Going really good - got blinds in now, had the driveway excavated, concrete gets poured next Wednesday, putting the last coat on the skirting boards and trying to organise and keep adding to the budget lol. It's a long process, but it's a good process. I need to get more pics up soon. Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 295Jul 14, 2016 7:42 am snyde It is, must be getting excited! Just hanging to make it to the end now. Its funny how long the jobs keep going for after handover. We've just started planning our jobs now (probably a little late, but better late than on handover day), and we're realising just how many jobs are left to do. And that's not even taking landscaping into consideration! I dare say we will probably be sporting a mud garden for at least 6 months before we recover enough to get the landscaping sorted. Keep the pics coming! The most interesting part of the build is where you take an empty house and make it a home, so I love seeing what people do after handover. You place is looking bloody awesome! Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 296Jul 14, 2016 7:49 am Thanks! Haha - just make use of every one you know too. Wait till the electrical and flooring is in.. it completely transforms it! Don't worry we only started planning around the same time as you. We listed about 40 - 50 post-hand over jobs to do... I think we're about half way through now. I agree, it's always good seeing how people make it their home, it's what sets each house apart from the rest. Re: MainVue Amalfi 532 - Plaster/Bricks 298Jul 18, 2016 9:45 pm Saint Girl Unfortunately not Libby, we havent had a chance to get to the house when there is still daylight as we were away in Warrnambool for the weekend. And probably won't get to see it for a few weeks now, as I'm about to head away overseas for a few weeks for work. The good thing is that when I get back, heaps should have been done so the pics will be good As far as I know, most of the brickwork is done, and the Brickie expects to be finished by the end of the week. The plaster inside has been finished, with the cornice installed. That was the last I heard of it, as I didn't get my update last week.
