Browse Forums Building A New House MainVue Amalfi 532 - Final Fit off 441Dec 21, 2016 7:46 am Your internet problems tell a similar story to ours. We got so frustrated with Telstra who sent out the wrong technician on 3 different occasions that we tried to get Optus instead, just to do overheads but they also wouldn't connect anything to the Colorbond roof. My husband tried to figure out how to put a riser pipe on the fascia himself and asked a few mates for suggestions but we got nowhere so just waited for Telstra in the end, forking out ridiculous amounts for mobile broadband along the way. They also told us it would cost us thousands for the pit to go underground but In the end they put the pit in at a very reasonable cost and it's all over now...but it was as frustrating as our demolishment. The build was the easy part. Have you had your one year check up yet? Isn’t it great when the outside is done.! We just love our home and outdoor space. Entertaining family and friends is a pleasure. The design and layout of the home is fantastic, full of light and with a lovely view of the garden, we are rapt Hopefully you feel the same about your home. What else do you need to do? We still need a couple of pieces of furniture and I’m trying to convince my husband to change the wall colour in the theatre. I am also harping on about changing the splash back colour but I think he is getting annoyed with me..... Hopefully we'll have the front finished before the end of the year, and then next year I can start on the back. Yeah we've actually been lucky with the path of the sun as it tracks along the back of the house, where we have the most windows, so natural light is not a problem. Loving the layout also, the main living area is nice and big! It's hard to think that we've been in for less than a year, feels like forever already. We've still barely touched the other bedrooms in the house, but we've managed to get 1 of them finished. Still got a fair bit to do. We're just chipping away at it slowly. We've got our 1 year coming up in a couple of weeks. Just got a few things we need looked at. Haha yeah you think that because it's a new house, you won't have to change anything for a while. But as you live in it you kinda find things that you wished you did differently.
