Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 01, 2015 2:30 am Well we finally took the plunge and set out to building Perth. Got our block of land in Woodlands and then started the task offing our builder. We spoke to a number of two storey builders and then narrowed it down to Webb & Browne - Neave, Peter Stannard, APG and Don russell homes. At the outset we liked PSH plan of Cape mill and when our sales consultant showed us the Landing we fell head over heels. It had all the stuff we wanted:- Downstairs guest with Ensuite Small footprint - leaving back and side yard. Great quality specs Our main issues were cost of retaining with PS was significantly higher because garage was kissing the fence. $18000 versus $5000 Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 4May 01, 2015 12:49 pm I think I would of died getting a bill for $18,000 when you were expecting $5,000! Following, your house is a similar shape/layout to ours, would love to see your upper floor plan. Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 5May 01, 2015 1:29 pm thanks , will be following this thread. We are contemplating the Cape Mill, but our changes to the plan came to an extra $60K. So it is still in the short list whilst waiting on some custom designs from Goldstyle and Riverstone. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 6May 04, 2015 2:46 pm Very exciting. We are still working on a variation of the Cape Mill. Hope to have more news soon! This plan is similar to the PSH display at Waterford. It creates a feeling of space when you walk in. We are using our Retreat upstairs as Media Room. And planning to use minimalistic furnishing in the Lounge. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 10May 05, 2015 10:53 am chesterandco Very exciting. We are still working on a variation of the Cape Mill. Hope to have more news soon! Cheers Chester. Please post some pics of your layout/plan. Would love to see how it turns out. And may I ask where you are building? Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 11May 05, 2015 11:12 am Jul_Kir thanks , will be following this thread. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 13May 05, 2015 11:23 am Hi, We are building in Floreat on a 926sqm block so we have some room to play with. We will stretch the house out a bit but the facade will stay the same. We are working on the plans today with PSH. I will post when we get a revised copy. Very excited for you. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 14May 05, 2015 12:17 pm Upper floor looks great, I like your dressing room and how large your bathroom is, only thing I would have done differently for bathroom and ensuite is an enclosed toilet but it wouldn't really work with your current layout. WIR to each room is great too. WIR to each room is great too. Archetto thanks for that. We had an enclosed toilet in the initial plan but we took it out as we went for a hobless and doorless shower with a small tiled recess for holding soap and shampoo etc.. Once we took the glass out, the extra cost only came to $1000 per shower. And we have three showers!! And may I ask where you are building?? will do, we have some plans and quotes from PSH, and goldstyle but are holding off at the moment with them until we get the designs from riverstone. We are building in Baldivis (tuart ridge) eventually. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 17May 08, 2015 6:00 pm Yeah we settle on our block in 4 days. Hopefully our final plans will be drawn up soon. Spoke to electrics and home entertainment people. Also spoke to a few air conditioning people asking for quotes. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 18Jun 30, 2015 9:55 pm We have started building the first Cape Mill home in WA. Pad is down, plumbing/sewers in and bricklaying just about to start. Happy to answer any questions on the PSH process up to now. Re: Peter Stannard build The Landing 19Jun 30, 2015 10:25 pm Can I just ask how long the process was from pre start to slab? Also did you go with Armani air conditioning for climate control? We are just a bit unsure as other AC providers have given us quotes and waiting for a figure from Armani and not sure which way to go. Pre start is on Friday.
