Things have been delayed again - we were all ready to start on the 6th May, but when they went to start prepping the site, they noticed that for some reason my block is 200mm lower than it was when the site engineers went out. Turns out that when the house next door was built, they needed to build up their site, so just took soil from my block and hoped no-one would notice. I spoke with the neighbours about it and mentioned that if they had to pay to bring in soil they might want to ask for a copy of that invoice to see where it came from. Not my neighbours' fault at all, but just annoyed for them if they have paid for something that was stolen, and annoyed that this has taken another 2 weeks to resolve for me! So my SS said they would take any excess soil from scraping other sites in the area (of which they're doing a lot) and dump on my property to save time and money - great! Only thing slowing that down was all the rain which put everyone behind another week. Anyway, went out for a drive on Wednesday with my DS and arrived at the block to this... Given the rain we have had in Adelaide, I figured this would be postponed until at least Friday or next week. Thought I'd call the SS to find out - so did and left him a message. In the mean time I receive an invoice which I assume means that the slab has been done. SS calls me back and says that he was a bit surprised, but they actually did it today! And the tradies were going to be stuck out there waiting to get a good finish on it for a looooong time. So after school I drove out to check it out... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Yep, still far from finished...they assure me it will be fine. I can believe tradies, right? 2016 is going to be AWESOME!
