Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Springwood SA 53Mar 24, 2016 8:11 pm Valerie Kiwikvinna Hi there. Looking forward to hearing next steps in your Palisade journey. Thanks Valerie! Well, in the past few weeks we have been getting all of the finance done, and the mortgage settled yesterday after some dramas with the original settlement on the land having something still pending...from 18 months ago! So it feels like I have just lost so much time running around getting things done to then have another issue and then another. Next week I get the boundary repegged after the builders on the block next door managed to knock out three. Then the rear retaining can start the following week and THEN we can get the house happening. Meanwhile poor mum is getting so sick of how much this has been dragged out and just wants her space again, which I totally understand. I'd hoped that as we got to the school holidays things would be halfway! Anyway, it's frustrating but what can you do?! How are you progressing Valerie? How did selections go? 2016 is going to be AWESOME! Building the Simonds Palisade Land settlement: 15/10/14 Contract signed: 8/10/15 Build start: 6/5/16 Slab: 9/6/16 Re: Building the Simonds Palisade in Springwood SA 54Apr 19, 2016 10:50 pm Slowly, slowly inching closer to something happening... Boundary pegging didn't happen as promised, so that delayed tradesmen doing retaining. Retaining started a week later, and they were awesome and had the job done in 3 days. However, because of all this, the build start date has been pushed out yet again. Now scheduled for 6th May. Meeting with SS and CRC booked in for next Friday, while I am still on school holidays. I just want this thing to start already!!! On a positive note, when I went out to inspect the expensive retaining wall last week, I got to meet some more of the neighbours and they seem lovely! They were excited about having another kid in the street for their 4 girls to play with. Does anyone who has built in Adelaide (northern side preferably) have an independent building inspector that they would recommend? 2016 is going to be AWESOME!
