Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 221Jun 16, 2017 6:59 pm Wow wow! Loving that natural wood grain look and progress. Was only weeks ago that you were trying to find out who your new SS is Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 222Jun 16, 2017 7:02 pm That's such great progress I love seeing all the Sekisui/Burbank activity it definitely gives me confidence we will get to the end eventually! Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 223Jun 26, 2017 5:21 pm Didn't get a weekly update from our SS last week, but got the bill for the next stage! It's supposed to be for completion of fix-out (or is that fit out??), but the carpenter was there again all day today, so not sure he is actually finished... They may be slow on a lot of things, but sending out massive invoices is not one of them! I was hoping that the completion of the "fix out" would include a bit more than just cabinetry and skirting boards. The tiling isn't even done. After this invoice we only have the last 10% to pay (plus the cost of any extras we put in), and I'm pretty sure what we have at the moment isn't a house that is 90% finished! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 224Jun 26, 2017 6:41 pm I agree with you! I thought there would more done for that payment as that's quite a big one if I recall. Definitely investigate further Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 225Jun 26, 2017 10:19 pm Hey, do you remember at what stage did you get your enclosure invoice? We haven't got one yet and internals have started - was starting to wonder if they had forgotten (as if) Also agree and that it would be reasonable to ask what the fixing claim entails... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 226Jun 27, 2017 9:35 am I asked the accounts lady today and got quite an abrupt answer. "the fixout stage is complete when the internal lining, skirting, cornices, architraves and cabinetry is complete. The house is basically ready for painting. It does not include tiling." When I replied that the carpenter was at our property all day yesterday, so I didn't think he was finished, the response was "the stage is called as complete in our system by the supervisor. You can check with him as our system shows the stage is complete and the payment is due in 14 days". Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 227Jun 27, 2017 9:39 am ehhc Hey, do you remember at what stage did you get your enclosure invoice? We got our enclosure invoice back in February. It was when they were ready to put up the plasterboard, so basically after brickwork and roofing is complete. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 228Jun 27, 2017 7:00 pm Hmm we got our enclosure invoice today due in 7days Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 230Jun 27, 2017 9:05 pm ehhc Hmm we got our enclosure invoice today due in 7days 7 days!! Is that the Burbank standard for payment of invoices? We chose the same white silk finish too hehe. I reckon sublime teak was one of colours we shortlisted also, ended up with something different Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 234Jun 28, 2017 2:20 pm ehhc 7 days was part of Sekisui contract. Hey! We chose the same white silk finish too hehe. I reckon sublime teak was one of colours we shortlisted also, ended up with something different Wow, we have always had 14 days to pay ours. I don't think I could organise payment in only 7days!! We are having bamboo floorboards, so chose that timber finish for the kitchen because it went best with the floors. There were so many nice timber laminates for the kitchen, and many that were very similar! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 236Jun 28, 2017 2:24 pm Spoke to our SS and we are meeting him and the tiler tomorrow morning to confirm the tiling design. SS also told me that he has to get the carpenter back to complete the gyprock under the stairs and for the kitchen bulkhead (I didn't even ask about it, so was happy that he is on top of it). Then the stone bench tops should be installed by the end of next week. Yay!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 237Jun 28, 2017 7:49 pm That's pretty cool to be able to get some say into how the tiling will go. Your SS seems to be on top of everything Which company is doing your tiles? Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 238Jun 28, 2017 9:36 pm Yes, our SS said he always likes the tilers to talk to the home-owners before they start to ensure there aren't any stuff-ups. Particularly since tiling is a nightmare to re-do. We think it is a great idea. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 239Jun 28, 2017 9:38 pm Dons tiles are supplying the tiles, but I don't know if they have their own tilers that do the work or if Sekisui just organises the tiler separately. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13442 |
