Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 281Jul 16, 2017 5:15 pm Great progress!! Really pleased for you, PCI can't be too far away, are you having flooring done by Sekisui/Burbank too? Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 282Jul 16, 2017 6:09 pm Yes, the flooring is the last big thing to do. Our SS said he likes to have a pre-completion inspection before the flooring goes in because if anything needs to be re-done, the tradies don't ruin the floors doing it! We paid extra for bamboo flooring downstairs, but have just gone for the cheap carpet upstairs (we have young kids, who still vomit on a semi-regular basis!!). We'll replace the carpet in 5 years or so (or probably 10 realistically !!) Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 283Jul 17, 2017 10:31 am Hey Jonese, nearly there. With young children best to have cheaper carpet first and replace 5 - 7 years ... & 7 years is the time to change. viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 284Aug 04, 2017 6:43 pm Not a lot happening at our place, although we haven't seen inside for a week or so. The SS told me last week that they are a little behind because he did a torch test along all the walls in the house and had to get the plasterer back to smooth some bits out. Which although it means another week or so delay, I'd rather flat, smooth walls that bumpy ones. Hoping to see that the painting has been finished this weekend. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 285Aug 05, 2017 7:27 am A torch test?! Your SS must really like to deliver a quality build Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 286Aug 05, 2017 7:34 am ehhc A torch test?! Your SS must really like to deliver a quality build Yes, he said it wasn't standard to do that, but he liked to make sure it was right. I wasn't going to argue with him! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 287Aug 05, 2017 2:51 pm They have already delivered your kitchen cabinets so they should have installed garage door for safe lockup. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Yes, I thought that too, but I guess if anything gets stolen or damaged, they are the ones that are going to have to fix/replace it. I'd prefer for it all to be locked up, but I have given up worrying about things at this point..... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 289Aug 06, 2017 5:08 pm Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 290Aug 06, 2017 5:16 pm Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 292Aug 06, 2017 5:44 pm Hehe I like the discrete around the corner photo. What does your colour schedule say? Just checked ours, skirting and architraves etc are different to wall colour. Looking real good Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 293Aug 06, 2017 6:06 pm Our skirting and architraves are the same as the walls but are gloss compared to the matt walls. They were going to charge us extra to make it a different colour but we picked a white for the walls so didn't care too much. Maybe check your contract? Otherwise it's not too hard to repaint them later (a hassle still!) Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 294Aug 06, 2017 7:28 pm Im jealous that you can still go inside your house Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 295Aug 06, 2017 9:17 pm ehhc Hehe I like the discrete around the corner photo. What does your colour schedule say? Just checked ours, skirting and architraves etc are different to wall colour. Looking real good 😂 Haha!! I went to take the photo of the bathroom standing in the doorway, but saw myself in my daggy Sunday trackies and thought, I'd better hide myself around the corner!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 296Aug 06, 2017 9:18 pm We definitely chose two separate paint colours, but will have to check the details in the contract. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 297Aug 06, 2017 9:28 pm ehhc Im jealous that you can still go inside your house We made sure we got a last sneak in today because our SS told us that the garage door is going in on Tuesday. Apparently the bath, toilets and tapware and shower screens were installed today. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 300Aug 11, 2017 11:17 pm Exciting stuff!!! 3 weeks hey. So you can't get in anymore? We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37150 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19108 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13447 |
