When are they going to start to paint? Not long to go... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 266Jul 09, 2017 8:30 am Great photos ... you are not locked out yet? I've noticed they have done the following differently to how they have done yours. I prefer what they done with your home. I'll try and get some photos -tiling in bathrooms... we have tiling to ceiling too but our cornices are in already -our waterproofing looks different -our kitchen bulkheads are MDF not frame and plasterboard -we have MDF over the cabinets where stone benchtops go. Searching google suggests this is fine, but I don't want to see the MDF boards underneath the stone where the overhang is. How deep is your island overhang? Ours is 300mm. Yes, your photos do look quite different to ours! We were unsure about the cornices in the bathrooms, but haven't asked about them because we didn't know there was different way of doing it until now! The waterproofing is very different. Unfortunately I have no knowledge of waterproofing chemicals and colour variation! Our island overhang is only 160mm (when we saw it, we were actually a bit disappointed with how small it is - not really much of a breakfast bar - just one of those things we didn't look at close enough in the design phase). But none of our stone bench as anything under it. In fact I don't think we have MDF in any part of our house. Again, no idea what product is better than another.... Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 268Jul 11, 2017 6:26 pm No, we aren't locked out yet. I thought that was a bit strange, and was expecting to be locked out weeks ago! The front door is locked, but we still don't have a garage door, so you can enter the house through there. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 269Jul 11, 2017 7:20 pm No idea about mdf either. It just seems like a cheap material and used for subwoofer boxes hehe Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 270Jul 11, 2017 11:24 pm I think your way with the cornices are better from reading other threads on here... means they will cornice over the tiles. Whereas with mine, they will tile up to the cornice since it's already installed. Something I forgot to mention at tiling appointment Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 271Jul 12, 2017 11:45 am ehhc I think your way with the cornices are better from reading other threads on here... means they will cornice over the tiles. Something I forgot to mention at tiling appointment We just noticed after seeing your kitchen photos that the tiler didn't leave any spaces in our splashback for the power points. I hope the electricians can put a nice hole through them because those tiles cost us a bomb, and we'd like to keep the left overs! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 272Jul 13, 2017 8:37 am Our splashback will be glass, so I believe they needed the holes done to measure the glass cutouts onsite. They've missed some Powerpoint cutouts for a few areas in ours, including the bathrooms. But I think the cutouts are abit smaller than the actual plate so it should be alright Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 273Jul 15, 2017 11:34 am hey! you have a recessed wet area too - guessing that your..laundry and powder? that floor area should be built up and finished flat with adjacent pantry floor Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 279Jul 16, 2017 3:44 pm Yes that is our laundry and bathroom downstairs! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 280Jul 16, 2017 3:47 pm Update from the SS on Friday: - Painting should be finished by the end of next week. - SS will mark up any imperfections in the plastering and get the gyprocker to fix up where necessary. - upstairs floor to be sanded on Monday. - Will try to get the carpenter in to start on fixtures in bathrooms, eg towel rails, toilet roll holders. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37076 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 18896 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13301 |
