Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 388Nov 18, 2017 6:31 pm The concreter started the excavation two months ago, but hit a water pipe and never came back. I am pretty sure there is only two days work in it, and not even two full days. He kept saying he'd do it "next week", and just never did because he was too busy. Not sure why we were put at the back of the queue. Our SS is now trying to find a new concreter. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 389Nov 19, 2017 7:11 pm Presentation tomorrow... make sure you update us!!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 392Nov 20, 2017 1:59 pm Got they keys!!! Happy dance! The SS asked when Sekisui initially broke ground (because he is our 5th SS, so wasn't around at the start), and was shocked when I said August 2016! He didn't realise it had been so long. Added to that we demolished in June, so really they should have started in July, but there was stuff around between Sekisui and Burbank as to who was going to build our house. Anyway....... There are a few things not right, but the SS has organised for those to be fixed: - hot water not working (we have a heat pump, because there is no gas in our street) - water filter in kitchen missing - power point under stairs missing - garage door remote missing Before we even left the house the electrician had come to look at the hot water system and the missing power point. Unfortunately he said its the plumber that needs to come back and put in a missing part for the hot water system, so hopefully the plumber will be as responsive as the electrician was! As long as it's done before we move next week, I don't like cold showers!! We are going to have to put a strip of artificial grass or something on the front yard up to the door, because it is a dirt pile at the moment, and I don't want the flooring to get trashed in the first month! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 393Nov 20, 2017 3:52 pm Omg, haha feeling so excited for you even though you haven't shared photos!!!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 394Nov 20, 2017 4:11 pm That list of problems is so small, I'd be happy with that! Congratulations by the way! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 395Nov 20, 2017 5:47 pm That is SUCH GREAT news!! Really happy for you but what a long process, I thought ours was long! I am sure all the pain will one day be a distant memory when you are living in your beautiful new house, hopefully all the issues are fixed very soon. When are you moving in?? Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 396Nov 20, 2017 7:29 pm Congratulation to you and family. ::cheerleader:: Hope they fix up hot water system soon. Enjoy your new home. Oops! Will get some next time! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 400Nov 20, 2017 8:10 pm We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37136 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19091 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13442 |
