Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 246Jun 29, 2017 8:35 pm shazaw ehhc Looking good what were some of the specific tiling things you asked for? We wanted wet area floor tiles to be bigger than 300x300 but tilers said no Sekisui won't allow. Went back and asked Burbank, they had no idea so they just said No to get me to go away I think LOL. Not too fussed in the end. And another thing was to get floor and wall tiles aligned. Tilers won't do that either, apparently due to grout width standards being different to floor and wall. I guess that change over applied to everyone including the office staff. We got to stick with Don's. No idea what or who is better, just over the change of suppliers and selection range was actually different so I went back to the CSO and had a cry about it. Burbank still use Dons but depends on the build area. I haven't had tiles appointment.... don't know where I be getting my tiles from? Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 oh really? tile appointment was meant to happen at Slab or Frame stage.... Should ask your CSO.. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 247Jun 29, 2017 10:06 pm We didn't really want anything fancy, just wanted to make sure they know which walls have the feature tiles etc. We are also having some fancy tiles for the splash back in the kitchen and it requires some tiles to be cut in half, and we wanted to reiterate that those tiles shouldn't be along the bench tops, but under the top cupboards. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 248Jun 29, 2017 10:06 pm Shazaw, you should definitely book in your tile appointment soon. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 249Jun 29, 2017 10:11 pm The carpenter also said that Burbank pretty much cut all the contracts with the tradies and suppliers that Sekisui had, and that is one reason why they are struggling to get tradies for some things, because it is so busy in Sydney at the moment. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 255Jul 04, 2017 11:20 pm How did I miss this... looking good! I like how it's all streamlined looking with the fridge space tucked away around the corner. Did you end up sorting out a pendant? I saw one at beacon a little while back if you were still interested in the timber beam style. Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 256Jul 05, 2017 12:19 pm Haven't bought the pendant yet, but I think I saw the one you are talking about on the Beacon website. It is on the short-list with the Blue Lab one! I was actually looking at it last night! Just have to bite the bullet and make a decision!! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 257Jul 05, 2017 4:32 pm I got worried the bluelab one was hard to install but I found a YouTube video that shows how to fix the suspension wires... lol it looks easy. The bluelab piece is abit heavy though! The owner didn't recommend fixing the wire point just on plasterboard. https://youtu.be/QXHolPaIxmE Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 258Jul 05, 2017 5:32 pm Thanks Ehhc, I will check out our ceiling structure before I make a purchase! Re: KDR in Sydney - Sekisui Luzia 2 260Jul 08, 2017 8:17 pm Ezza78 What flooring have you chosen? Can't wait to see final kitchen photo, the cabinets look fab, work great with the wood island choice! We chose bamboo floorboards, sand colour. We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37142 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19096 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13443 |
