Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 23, 2016 5:18 pm Hi there! I've been following along with lots of builds in the Clarendon thread, and thought, seeing as we're finally making some progress, that I'd start my own thread. We're building the Armadale 37 - floor plan in following post -with Clarendon. Timeline: - April 2015: Settled on 450sqm block in an established area of NW Brisbane - June 2015: Signed contract with Clarendon - 7 September 2015 - build week 1: Site works commenced (after some back and forth on retaining walls and drop edge beams) - 14 September 2015: we built a retaining wall, before works could continue - 17 - 29 September 2015: plumbing etc, through to slab completion - 6 October 2015: frame started - 17 October 2015: fascia and gutter started - 20 October 2015: upper roof on - 29 October 2015: lower roof on (with a hole, due to steel beam in garage being too long - 6 November 2015: windows FINALLY delivered and installed the next day - 17 November 2015: bricks had started earlier in the week - realised part of the front facade was wrong (resolved very quickly, thankfully!) - Nothing, other than bricks, happened for like a month! - Christmas/New Year period: gyprock installed - 18 January 2016 - build week 21: Cladding and eaves installed; plastering done; stairs delivered Re: Building the Clarendon Armadale 37 in Brisbane 2Jan 23, 2016 5:34 pm Facade Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Lower floor - we modified the front Living area/Study to create a Guest Room and Study; also, added a shower to the Powder Room; closed in the Rumpus Room; might have flipped the Pantry and Laundry (can't remember, now!); and extended the Alfresco slab for Council approval purposes. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Upper floor - we modified the upper floor to be more like the larger version of the house, which suited our needs better! We chose surf mist as our main interior colour and I have been doubting myself since we signed off on it! Funnily enough, I'm wondering about changing from Gemini Silver to Surfmist!! Although, I've already been told in no uncertain terms that I won't be able to make any further changes Re: Building the Clarendon Armadale 37 in Brisbane 8Jan 24, 2016 9:37 am Hi Madonna. Love your colour selections and your tile selections. We are having belga charcoal on the floors in the upstairs bathrooms but I really wanted to change them to grey but they wouldn't let me Have they given you an estimated handover date yet? Thanks, MinandB! Like everyone else, we're hoping that everything comes together as beautifully in reality as it looks in our heads! I'm feeling you on the changes - we made a couple of changes during construction (which were agreed to by someone who probably shouldn't have agreed to them ), but were told that we wouldn't be able to make any more after that. As though they were doing us a favour!!!! No idea on handover, although current SM suggested two months a couple of weeks ago. Realistically, they should be finished within 6 weeks, but we'll see. I just really want to be in by Easter!! Have they given you any indication? Thanks for posting [/quote] Surfmist isn't dark. Roomeat has just had their cladding painted Surfmist (building Parkhill with Clarendon) and our current garage door is Surfmist. Did you want a photo of our garage door (though it is a little dirty)? We are looking to do something similar, a modern take on Hamptons style. Would love to see more photos of your home if you are able to post them.
