Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 23, 2016 8:13 am Just wondering what do you think I could build a double story for, say 33-35 squares, not including site costs. I see some base prices range from 230,000 up to 300,000, just wanted to see what other people ended up spending on top of their base price. Thanks Re: Double story cost 2Jan 23, 2016 12:06 pm We spent $75k over the base price including site costs, our 2 storey is 274sqm Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Re: Double story cost 3Jan 23, 2016 1:01 pm It is very dependant on what you change and what you upgrade. I know of people that build a 5 bed 3 bath double storey double brick and stay very close to the base price. Me not so much, went overboard in most areas. Dont try and save at the expense of quality. I spent on items where I do not want to renovate so quickly down the track. Plus I splurged on a bit of luxury, so while I am not building to sell I did spec such that it would tick a lot of points if I were to sell.
