No word yet when that would be though. We are not using an independent inspector so it will really be up to us to decide if we are satisfied. Hopefully your next one is soon and that you are happy. viewtopic.php?t=81336 Building with MainVue - Modified Ivory 436...our journey If you can get friends or family to come with you as the more eyes to check would be better.. Had my uncle with me earlier today and he's pointed out things we easily missed as well. Some of the major things that our inspector saw were rotting timber window frames and rusted garage door that would need to be replaced and not just sanded and painted over. There were also something wrong with how they did insulation and some areas weren't properly covered. Good luck with your NHP looking forward to see your photos. There are still a fair bit of things that they need to do. Major things: 1. Inspect and sand timber window frames and re-stain 2. Sand and treat garage door to remove rusting 3. Render the whole side of the garage wall since they can't rectify the mortar. This was due to the bricks being laid from the inside since they didn't take down the fence. I've booked for the fence to be put up on the 21st July. I had a bit of luck with tracking down our neighbour on the side so they can pay for their half. Turns out they didn't get our letter as they moved out from the address the council gave. Lucky that their home phone was listed in white pages and they had that diverting to their mobile phone. Not sure what I'd do with the neighbours on our back. By the way, did you pay extra for the render? Render looks great. It was picked from one of the inspiration boards in Cosham. We had to have part rendered (so the two pillars in front) as a requirement from the Estate so that was an upgrade but the render for the side of garage was free since it was their fault that they didn't communicate within their departments properly resulting in poor results This was how it looked like. Unrolled mortar where the fence was which they were meant to take down before doing bricks or atleast instructed us about it. Getting a bit anxious to have turnover but I know it's better this way to ensure the things needed fixing would be fixed in a timely manner rather than chasing them up when we have moved Marina Henley progress: viewtopic.php?style=26&f=31&t=81630 Marina Henley progress: viewtopic.php?style=26&f=31&t=81630 Re: Marina Q1 Henley new home progress 171Jul 27, 2016 2:04 pm I have only just seen your thread! They are waiting for good weather to fix the window frames and it's raining all week so I guess it might take a while. Due to bad building experiences of family and friends before we actually took all inspection stages offered by Darbecca. Although a bit frustrating that most items they usually leave until before NHP or thereabouts before they fix. Who are you getting for inspections? Did you met your SS before slab? We haven't met our SS personally (we just go at the site on weekends... I think I met our SS after frame stage already, we discussed some items from the inspection report as it was easier to explain some items being on site. One thing to note though, there were defects that we wouldn't have been aware of as they were with regards to building regulation, etc. One of the things at frame stage was one side of the master bedroom wall needed an extra bracing as the one they did were not within the correct angle range. That sort of thing Marina Henley progress: viewtopic.php?style=26&f=31&t=81630 Marina Henley progress: viewtopic.php?style=26&f=31&t=81630 Re: Marina Q1 Henley new home progress 176Aug 02, 2016 9:25 pm Hi Ponyang, love your beautiful house!
