We noticed our painting is a little patchy especially in areas where there is high reflection of light. We didn’t get think of putting it in the pci list at the time Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1202Feb 23, 2018 7:55 pm Kitchen people were onsite today to change standard drawer runner to soft close drawers and soft close door hinges. AND they still miss out changing main bathroom drawers. We now have mirrors and shower screens. Can't wait to have every things clean up. We have been ignored by our CSO for the last 4 or 5 months. Not answering emails or phones. Shocking... Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1204Feb 25, 2018 3:12 pm I went back to check out shower screen, looked ok but the glass door is very flimsy, it is thin. I don't like it. With my boys a few rough swing and it could break. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1206Feb 25, 2018 9:00 pm trimum That’s a worry, I’m not sure if ours are in yet... we went with frameless shower doors did you? All showers screen are semi frameless. We should have got fully framed one for outdoor living area and they have put in semi frameless. I went into shower area to see if there is enough room for boys and my elbow bumped into shower screen and its wobble. I'm only 1.65cm tall so my arms are shorter and boys are187cm tall and arms are longer. Imagines washing hair with their longer arm and bumping into shower screen ohh I'm worried. Very concern about safety. I should have made shower cubicle larger. The main bathroom shower is 1.00m by 0.95cm should be 1.0m by 1.0m. (I should have plan this shower area bigger) thinking 1.0m by 1.0m is enough Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1207Feb 28, 2018 10:41 pm We have the semi frameless and small standard square shower too. I also wish they were the overlap doors like at the displays. I imagine the water will escape where the door gap is Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1208Feb 28, 2018 11:04 pm Not much happening this week. Materials for pantry shelves and wardrobe were delivered today. Yes SS has given me a green light. I can fix up area behind outdoor living area for my greenhouse. hehe ... more like green shade material on lines. At least there will be shaded area for my pot plants when we move as I don't plan to start landscaping straight away. One good piece of advice is to chip and scrape the mortar and mess from the edge of the house/footings and rake it out into the open. When they do the final site clean they won't do anything by hand so they leave any mess against the house. Ask your supervisor to also remove the road base/ aggregate base they used as a driveway as this will cost you dearly to get rid of later. His reply " pick up any stones or broken bricks and pile up at the front and we will clear all from the front " It's good but Why? do I have to clean up the site for them, they should do this! I don't think they are going to clear all ...so I'm going to have to do this. As for the road base they have already cover up with left over sands very nicely and We have already got a quote from our driveway concreter that they will charge us $500 per truck load to remove concrete/ sand/ road base. That's another week gone. Take one week to deliver items and another week to sortout trades. Taking longer and longer to finish!!!! Build thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1213Mar 09, 2018 9:26 pm We had meeting with SS today regarding to all outstanding jobs. Apparently his a** got kicked by Melbourne head office, and they told him to finished off our house asap. He has already lined up different jobs to finish off but tradies are different story. Pantry shelves arrived last week but no carpenter up to this morning not a single one was in. Later today we went back and found two pantry and one linen cabinet were fitted with shelves. Bathtubs, sinks for laundry, taps for kitchen and bathrooms, shower rails were delivered. BUT missing 2 outdoor living sinks. One other problem was the skydome. They have installed wrong one. So we have decided to keep it. and they will install correct skydome so on the top roof we have two skydomes, one for staircase and one for natural light for ceiling roof cavity. Not sure if this is good or bad, as long as both of these domes are water tight, also save time on recovering roof with tiles. The other issue was local council. On our DA approval, one of the requirement was council wanted to inspect stormwater connection to neighbour 's stormwater detention pit at the time of connecting. As usual council took 4 weeks to make decision that no council staff member required to inspection stormwater connection. Next week will be more productive as plumber coming to connect rainwater tank and stormwater connection. SS also suggested we start to organize flooring, book them in for quotes and he will open door for measurement. He did mention that he is going be on holiday from 11th of April and he wanted to finish our house by than. Let see what miracle will bring to have this house complete by April. My fingers are crossed for you xoxoxoox I will be absolutely thrill to have this house finished by April. Ready to move in is another story. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1216Mar 10, 2018 5:27 pm We are still organizing flooring. Hubby and younger son choose carpet colour and I have pick Laminate for ground floor. It's Quickstep Floor, Majestic range woodland oak brown. I have pick this colour as safe colour for all purpose. Can't see dirt, fine dust or footprint. Hubby is more interested on Desert oak brushed grey, I think this colour is a bit too light and I already have very light wall colour... the overall look will be more soft white light colour. I don't think this is good idea. The other colour is desert oak brushed dark brown, this one is very dark colour and straight away you can see footprint but its goes very well with wall colour. We are going ahead with this product just picking colour is hard. Any advice? Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1218Mar 10, 2018 6:32 pm Oh my gosh what a hard decision, both of those colours are gorgeous Yes I think it depends on your furniture, especially if you have peices you will definitely without a doubt be keeping. I think I do prefer the lighter one though, I am a total sucker for light colours ... sorry Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1219Mar 10, 2018 8:30 pm trimum What colour are your walls and your furniture? Wall colour is Taubmans June Fog. We will be using current furnitures but replace old ones eventually. Currently very old solid wood extendable dining table which I can paint either white colour or stain it black after sanding down. (too much hard work) and we have 2 * 3 seaters reclinable 12 years old navy blue leather couch from Domain... hehe very old. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1220Mar 10, 2018 9:09 pm I vote woodland oak brown Your hubby chose the carpet so it’s your turn haha. Man, is that textured? How do they get that effect on a laminate? So advanced now We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37160 The biggest challenge will be if you take out a loan and then run out of money - you'll have an incomplete security and lenders do not like this so you can get stuck.… 2 19114 Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13449 |
