Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1045Oct 25, 2017 9:08 pm We were informed of changes of tiles supplier but this is our 2nd tiles appointment. First was Di Lorenzo, 2nd Don's tiles and now Tiles Direct. Selecting tiles is emotionally traumatizing. I get very excited to see beautiful new tiles outside of standard range and disheartening to see the actual tiles with in standard range After we select tiles, they are going to check on the spot to see if they have enough tiles for wet area. If I had select tiles that may not be enough for wet area than I will have to reselect again.... so going to be one long afternoon. upgrade tiles?....We don't wants to upgrade.... there are other areas we need $$$ for driveway, flooring, fence and landscaping. I found that some of the standard range were good old made in oz! trimum That is so disappointing and I completely understand about the upgrade. We had to accept the limitations of standard ranges mostly. cat_dunc Yep fair call on the tile upgrades! Sorry guys for late reply. My youngest is having HSC exam and I'm on anxiety train wreck... Luckily we only have to reselect wall tiles for WC, Powder Room and Ensuite 2. All other tiles were fine. selecting wall tiles was too easy as there was only one colour tile that match/ or bland in with the floor tiles and vanity unit colour.. I do wish they have more options to be able to compare but limited standard tiles option... we are having wall to ceiling tiles for ensuite 2 and feel that the wall tiles and stone top will not go together. Nothing much happen last week, carpenters finished off architraves for ground floor skirting, trimming for alfresco ceiling and outdoor living area ceiling. Today tiles for wet areas delivered this morning and tiler is working on the job now. I should have some photos by end of the week. I got wrong tradies, the floorboards sanding guy was on site this morning, cleaning off dirt and dried up chunks of plaster board paste and uneven surface. The amount of dusts after sanding was around 20kg bag of sand and cement bag. And plumber was there to fix stink pipe for the outdoor living bath room. His reply " there are houses that are almost finishing and even these houses will not be getting keys before xmas." due to various reasons and shortage of tradies! Electrical pole should have been installed weeks ago and still these electrical people are too busy to come to my site. As per SS tiles get delivered a day before tiling start date... so far tiles were delivered but no tilers. My plan of moving in during school holiday is not going to happen. The bench should be in line with edge of pantry wall, if you look closely you can see on the actural kitchen pic 10cm in from pantry wall. Because I wanted more counter space on cooktop bench.
