I think it looks great. All their colours are white theme though Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 942Sep 19, 2017 11:10 pm ehhc You increased internal door heights too hey? I found our Corinthian entry door is 3 hinge setup, but the metal a&l frame used 4 hinges. Maybe after that whinging I did about the wrong frame wouldn't have mattered since they would have had to change it anyway LOL Yes we have increased internal door height for ground I haven't check hinges. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 We got downstairs floor tiles as a variation on the contract, it was $11,500 for all of downstairs except bedroom 4 (think you have a study downstairs) we are currently getting quotes for carpets and have settled with Fowlers blinds and carpets in Narellan - for all upstairs rooms (3 beds, lounge, hallway and stairs) and downstairs bed 4 it will cost just under $10k with a very good pet friendly hardwearing carpet and best quality underlay and fitting. Found these to have the best prices and we have had several quotes. Their blinds are also very well priced. I have decided to have both total block out blinds and soft lace curtains for windows. I'm still very keen to make my own curtains for large sliding doors for the back of the house. At this stage of built I'm finding extremely overwhelming to start to prepare for ready move in. I know it's still early. Too many little (big) jobs to do. We are getting solid timber door for out door living area - they are going to replace that glass door currently installed. Now I don't have to worry about neighbours looking in while I'm using bathroom there. Adding concrete path for porch step down. (looking more like fish tail) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ More curvy also create larger step off the porch. So people don’t walk straight onto grass after stepping off from porch. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Hubby set his mind on the last drawing. Keeping the original curved lines at the closest to neighbour side and adding more foot path coming off from porch to avoid stepping onto grass. :th::th: Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 949Sep 21, 2017 9:15 am The last drawing I like how you have made driveway wider at the porch side... so the car parked closest to entry doesn't have to turn when backing out. Are you doing a brick fence? Some of the houses in your area have quite a nice separate pathway to small entry gate at the fence. Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 950Sep 21, 2017 7:42 pm Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 951Sep 21, 2017 11:47 pm Thanks for suggesting real timber floor, Just personal reason I'm staying away from real timber flooring. My sister has real aust hardwood timber flooring at her house, after a couple of years looks terrible, too many scratches, dents, holes, polished colour faded. simply too much hassle to re sand and put polish back on. I'm now leaning towards laminate floor for all of ground floor area except powder room and laundry room. At first I was thinking of having carpet for Guest Room and Study. Concerned that laminate flooring might feels too cold in winter, as prices for carpet are cheaper....now that we have shop around.... there isn't much price difference between carpet and laminate. The scenario is : 1. If I had carpet in for guest room, study room...and it will be harder to change it back to laminate flooring if I'm not happy with carpet in guest room. As I may not get the same type of colour or product of laminate. 2. If I had laminate flooring and lets say I don't like it than all I have to do is cover up with a rug. Absolutely we will need large rug for guest room during winter. Great way to start the weekend Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 957Sep 22, 2017 5:32 pm Hubby " work from home today " as we have appointment with concrete guy for our driveway at 2pm today. So we went to shop around for more carpet quotes in the morning and drop by site for driveway appointment (that idiot did not turn up and will see us tomorrow morning ) He has no customer service at all. He should have call us ahead and change appointment time if he has difficulties keeping appointment. Today at the site, I was happy to see stairs but shock to see one guy working on kitchen cabinets. Naturally I had to ask if he has drained out water from service pipe. He has no idea , didn't even look down into pipe to check if all clear. To clear this matter I called SS's phone and someone answered. OUR SS IS GONE!!! How disappointing !!! I'm so ****!!! Will I get new SS for my site ... I don't know. There are so many small little jobs to finish every where. With out full time SS who know when this house will finish. Today should have been exciting day for me.... stairs in and kitchen cabinets started. My excitement got over shadowed by disappointment. Kitchen guy will be here tomorrow to complete installing all cabinets and stone bench top arrive next week. ( water in service pipe not drain !!!) ( Sorry buddies I had to vent) Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 958Sep 22, 2017 6:01 pm You need some concretor contacts for a 2nd opinion quote?
