What about the bottom cabinets, are their depths meant to be extended as well? Check the elevation drawing... it should show the depth of bench and cabinetry. I think it's worth asking... it's tiling that will be delayed but they can come back for the kitchen splashback or just work on bathrooms first. Yes the extended bench included in kitchen redesign modification. we will have to talk to SS and State manager. I wants to know how they will approach to change. At the moment the stone goes all the way underneath the window so the area between window and cooktop is level with stone. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624
:/ bummer. I'm not sure I understand it correctly though. Isn't the area between window and cooktop meant to be stone? Or is the cooktop cutout under the window too? Hmm and, why is there so much light in the oven opening? Is t just lighting effects or is there a gap in the wall under the window?
The cooktop already cut out, hence there is so much light in the oven opening. The area between cooktop and window should be stone. They should have measure 70cm from the inner wall instead of from window. Plus the distance between Island Bench and Cooktop bench should be 1300mm now the distance is measured to 1400mm. Personally I find these mistakes the most frustrating of all! Someone has just translated the plans incorrectly!!! Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1068Nov 07, 2017 6:50 am That is so frustrating especially when you trust them with instructions as to the measurements of items. I double checked the size of our first floor study and adjoining daughters bedroom. In the original plans the study is more than big enough and we asked to make that smaller and daughters room bigger. First plans came back with the amendments but guess what ... I never really looked hard at the final plans at the room sizes, I measured the rooms a couple of weeks ago and the changes in sizes were never made to the working plans so we have the big study that we hoped not to have Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1069Nov 07, 2017 9:41 am I have called and left message as well as text still no reply from SS. I really like to know how they will fix my kitchen nightmare. I didn't get much sleep last night. The other good news is tilers started working on wet area today. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1070Nov 07, 2017 9:21 pm Finally, I have managed grab hold of My SS this afternoon and sort out the kitchen problem. I was armed with print out of written contract, drawing and detailed print out of the 'Essences Inclusions Package'. First I show him the kitchen elevation drawing showing where the actual width of stone bench should be. He wanted to see more solid written confirmation from contract .....stating the actual width of the benchtop. On my contract clearly written ** increase width of Kitchen Benchtop and base cabinetry along side elevation to be approximately 700mm deep ** ...... After reading my contract he contacted to admin straight away and within 10 minutes they decided , Yes they have given me the standard size kitchen benchtop and base cabinets. ( and NOT what we had upgraded) As the result they will replace the current stone bench and base cabinet, which I think worth $3000 or more. He did ask me if I wanted refund for the upgrade that was paid for. Naturally I counter question him " Will I get house keys by xmas?" His reply was "No". If he could guarantee that the house will be finished by xmas.... I would have let this problem slide. As we will not be in by xmas, so I do want to have the kitchen that we paid for. Now I have to wait for new kitchen cabinets and stone bench top which will arrive next year. As per SS will not happen this year. Over all I'm very thankful to my meticulous husband, whom insisted every detailed items to be written out on the contract And thanks to my SS for taken actions straight away. ATM I'm happy shazaw Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 1071Nov 07, 2017 10:18 pm Great outcome shazaw! Hi Joneses, they are taken too long to do your driveway.... the truth is I'm very scared not being able to estimate when they will complete our house. I do pray they will finish your driveway soon. So my stone and bench will not be in until end of Jan or mid Feb.
