Browse Forums Building A New House Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 702Jun 08, 2017 6:36 pm My understanding is that the actual angle of the sill depends on how high the window is above the previous normal row of bricks. On our house we have a few different angles, but all of the windows on a single side of the house are the same, so you don't notice the differences unless you walk around looking at them. Having said that, I would have thought that a small incline away from the house would be useful. But remember that any water that might make it's way under the window frame would just trickle down the back of the bricks and out the weep holes (it's not like water would be shooting under the window frame and hitting the plasterboard on the inside of the house). Yes there is a weep hole directly under window sill which should allow rainwater to crept out. I have complain about too much rubbish on site needs to be clear, which he will clear the site coming Thursday. Will be seeing him on site coming Tuesday will go over a few issues such as incorrect window for main bathroom, cracked timber in the hallway, ( let's see if he pick up on the glass door for out door living area). I must not forget to find out when the storm water pipe will be joining to next door pit. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 I was taken back by the amount of rubbish on our site too, it's an absolute dump and with the amount of rain water, mud and weeds it looks a real eyesore. I've taken some pics to remind me in time to come how bad it looked!! Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 709Jun 11, 2017 9:20 am No, we only have one big window at the front, so it has a pretty big angle on it. The first picture I posted is the narrowest window we have. The windows we have at the back under our alfresco area don't have any angle on them though, but I figured that was because they are under cover, so won't get rained on. Were your windows at the front originally under a balcony or anything that you changed? Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 710Jun 11, 2017 9:23 am shazaw Joneses, your bricks are really nice. your down pipe are still intact. Some of my down pipes coming out from under ground are already broken. We have been pretty lucky, none of our pipes at ground level have been broken. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 712Jun 14, 2017 8:56 pm Our brickies came back yesterday and today to finish off bricking ground floor, also checked with them about scaffolding... should set up by tomorrow afternoon or Friday. Meeting with SS was pretty good. Pointed out on items need to fix and shock horror he doesn't know anything about our storm water pit which need to join into neighbour's pit. We are concern that Burbank will pull a stop work action just to finished plumbing work for storm water pit. On our DA council has clearly stated that " The proposed Stormwater pit must be connected after concrete slab and before Frame work start". If by chance council turn up at site to check for connection to next door pit .... the builder will be fined. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 713Jun 14, 2017 10:05 pm 0_0 really? Is it obvious that it's not connected? I don't even know what a storm water pit is. Did the SS say what they were going to do? Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 714Jun 15, 2017 1:17 am How frustrating! Can you speak to the AM? I am a bit concerned that Burbank do not know our builds well enough, having taken over our plans they weren't there at the start when we were designing our builds and putting the plans together and so it's a big catch up game they are playing.. Our Acacia build - http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=86619 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 715Jun 15, 2017 10:18 am Trimum, I will know by tomorrow when SS gives me weekly report. Ehhc, The actual pit on site is not visible, we already explained to each SS regarding the pit. They have all worked on immediate work for the site but they do not check back on files for detailed plans or council requirements. In the back of SS ute he has files for everyone which he is managing with all details. He flicked pages only when I'd mention to him about the pit. not happy! Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 716Jun 15, 2017 1:31 pm Brickies are gone!! No more bricks!!! they will be away for 6 days. Gone to do a job in Miranda. .... scaffolding needs to go up very quickly. Than third lot of bricks to deliver. Build Thread : viewtopic.php?=31&t=81624 Re: KDR Sekisui House - St George 718Jun 15, 2017 4:55 pm I went back to the site just to simply hang around .... feel sooooo good. Picked up all off cut timbers around the site and throw onto big pile of rubbish. I did not have garden gloves ..so just pick up one or two timbers at a time from the back of the house to the front... took exactly 33 steps.... from the front porch to the back of alfresco. Going back and forth made me realised it's going to be a long walk to get a drink to have a cup of tea or water. Once I start living at this place, I will have to carry a water bottle in a backpack just like the one used for hiking. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13437 |
