Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 19, 2016 11:24 am Hi All This is my first post here. After reading so many posts from other members and getting very useful insights, decided to start writing my own experience. I am building in eastern suburb with Rawdon Hill. Their Pemberton design, which is displayed in Clyde North (Berwick Waters). I will start with my experience so far and some timelines. Deposit Paid : May 2015 Design/Changes Finalized : Sep 2015 Color Selection Done : Oct 2015 Electricity Pit Installation : Oct 2015 Contract Signed : November 2015 House Demolished : November 2015 First Payment : November 2015 Something happened on site: Mid Dec 2015 Nothing happened since then: Until Today (19th Jan 2015) - Really Frustrating Experience So far: Sales Staff - Amazing No Issues. Quick to respond and resolve issues Project Coordinator/Customer Relation : Slow to respond.... Not happy I am sharing this and will keep updating this hopefully as and when I see some movement happening. So what's your experience? Cheers Re: KDR (Melbourne Eastern Suburb) : Building with Rawdon Hi 2Apr 14, 2016 12:49 am Hi there, Interested in knowing your experience with Rawdon Hill. How is everything moving along now? So after few hiccups (from my perspective) the project is running fine. We will be entering into lockup stage soon. The team at Rawdon hill is experienced and know their stuff very well. Few suggestions (based on our experience)- 1.) If you have slope in your block, then talk in beginning about the site cut. Don't leave it for the landscaping work. 2.) theatre pre wiring and network cabling - discuss this as well 3.) go through your floor plan and think about placement of furniture. This will help you to decide on power points. Even in the framing stage we added more as the theatre people and furniture guys suggested few things. All the best for your journey. Re: KDR (Melbourne Eastern Suburb) : Building with Rawdon Hi 4Apr 15, 2016 1:21 am Thank you, looking forward in commencing. Hopefully a stress free journey! Based on your dates, it appears they were slow to begin with. Great to hear positive results now though. Is this your first time building? The Pemberton is beautiful. Great design, my partner and I walked through for some ideas. Are you building with the Platinum standard inclusions? Thank you for your suggestions and advice. Our block is flat, so should have no issues there. At my next appointment I will suggest the pre wiring and network cabling. How many power points did you install in the theatre? My main worry is not installing enough power points throughout.. Very exciting, the wait is nearly over until you move in your home! I think at the end what matters is the end date they will give it to you. Yes we are building platinum inclusions. I have added 4 double points where the screen and equipments will be. 2 singles for the subs on either side of the wall near to screen and then 2 double on each side of the other side of the room. Glad to hear that your build is progressing well despite a slow start !! I'm contemplating on building the Pemberton at the established area. Since its KDR, my slab will need to be 'P' class. I wonder did you KDR and how much did you eventually pay for your site cost ? I'm also keen to know how much you spend on the upgrade in additions to the platinum inclusions (which seemed to be quite comprehensive) ? I'll keep you posted on my experience with Rawdon too... Cheers Re: KDR (Melbourne Eastern Suburb) : Building with Rawdon Hi 9Jun 15, 2016 8:10 pm Hi apologies for taking long time to reply. Pemberton is a great design and we loved it from day 1. We paid about 30K extra for our slab and other charges (dust removal etc). We had a bit of slope but not too much. We went for lot of as displayed things and that did cost us extra. Over all we paid about 100k extra that covers all the upgrades (mostly as displayed including stairs). Howdy all. I am looking for feedback on what people would do to maximise and make an area as flat as possible.
