Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 15, 2016 12:37 pm Good afternoon all, new user here. My partner and I have signed a building contract which will begin shortly (hopefully). We have our plans, have found our brick but are absolutely lost with matching everything to the brick. We have a colourbond roof, colourbond garage, some render and a little external cladding all on the front of the building. We are VERY new to this and would love some assistance in selecting colours to match. Are there professionals that offer this kind of service for a reasonable price? We're not after a full colour scheme design, just an expert to have a look at our plans and recommend some dos/do nots when it comes to colour. We are a little nervous the colours we like may not look good when it all comes together. We are located in the ACT. Cheers. Re: Assistance with External Colour Selection 2Jan 15, 2016 12:50 pm There is a forum member, Michelle, who is great with colour and may be able to offer some assistance. Alternatively, show us a pic of your facade, tell us what brick you have picked, what ideas you have, maybe what 'look' you are going for, and you might get some suggestions? Another idea - most brick companies can give you some addresses of houses that have been built with your chosen brick - you can go for a drive and have a look at what they have matched it with and see what you like - you can always knock on the door and ask if you would like to know what they have used and can't tell. We have gone with an Austral Freedom brick from the everyday life range - http://australbricks.com/bricks/everyda ... 6/freedom/ We are sold on white windows with the brown brick but are up for suggestions on all others. I liked the woodland grey for the colourbond roof but the lady at the brick place said it may have been too dark with the darkish bricks and recommended Jasper but Jasper seems to be too brown and similar to the bricks? Great idea with the brick company, I will give that a go. Re: Assistance with External Colour Selection 5Jan 27, 2016 6:54 pm hi d@n are you able to put in a link to Michelle (for some color advice)?
