Hi Oninon, it was about $700 for the bricks to be around sitting room and taken around side to where the gate will be set back (first downpipe). Thanks Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1462Aug 12, 2016 10:15 am So site manager called this morning and they are offering to render the brick section on the side between garage and front door. We want to push for the bricking they have done so far in that spot to be pulled down and rebricked in moonshadow as we had originally requested! What would you think would look better, brick or render? Our thoughts are that brick would add a bit of a break up from render on that side of the house a little bit. This is kind of how it would look with brick (no corner window on our facade and garage would be fully rendered with wall bit above door) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Facade as ours will look (but with glass balcony), imagine that brick bit behind pillar next to garage as render also Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1463Aug 12, 2016 10:40 am I would push for bricks. That's what you selected so that's what they should offer you! It's not too late to pull the other bricks down. Helps break up and make render and brick both stronger features I think! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1467Aug 12, 2016 10:54 am I'd push for bricks too. I think if you render it, it will look out of balance. Just my personal opinion. Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1468Aug 12, 2016 10:55 am I agree boysenberry, we need at least some bricks to that side of the house!! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1470Aug 12, 2016 12:24 pm Heard back from the construction manager above our site manager and they have agreed to pull bricks down at their cost and just charge us for the upgraded moonshadow brick to that section which I said was completely fine as it wasn't covered in original upgrade quote Now can have a nice weekend knowing that's sorted!! Going great guns Bummer that they put the wrong bricks up but as you say at least they are going to rectify it for you - I also think bricks will look better than render in that spot. Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1480Aug 13, 2016 10:31 pm It's good to see what the ironstone brick looks like in a real build, we chose the same brick for our house and it looks surprisingly much better than I expected! not that it matters because we are rendering our whole house!!
