Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 42Jan 19, 2016 11:02 pm Emmz70 Lol were trying to minimise landscaping We decided to extend because we liked the look of display homes one. Also to save us doing pathway we can use driveway haha Our land estates setback was 4 since we had 5 why not extend lol Here's a pic of what we want to achieve Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ viewtopic.php?t=79203 Nice portico. I think we will be doing the same if money allows it. Our current setback is 8m so we should have plenty of space? @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 43Jan 19, 2016 11:10 pm That's a decent setback. Our driveway was part of a promotion (free) but we pay for any variations, we moved the house back so we were charged and with the extension of deck we wanted driveway to meet up with deck, so more costs viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 44Jan 19, 2016 11:11 pm Emmz70 That's a decent setback. As long as yr house looks fabulous! @ Orph build thread: viewtopic.php?t=78328 Dream Metricon Glendale 38 (Sydney)! Orpheus Building the Metricon Glendale 38|Sydney Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 45Jan 19, 2016 11:16 pm So by portico you mean the deck part coming in front of the pillars? We want to do something like that too but i think we might be doing that stuff post handover. Like the idea of driveway meeting it And wow, 10m backyard, that is around what i was hoping for, but due to balcony which i didn't want to go without we ended up with 7m. Still not bad in todays blocks i guess Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 46Jan 19, 2016 11:17 pm Did you upgrade your promotion to aggregate? What was cost for that? I'm trying to convince hubby to do it but he wants to just do coloured We are widening garage by 1m, how much did you have to pay for extra concrete? We thought about doing it handover but then we'd have to do driveway as well so we took a dive and donated more money to M LOL 7 metres is a decent size as well, we can all have fun landscaping NOT!! It's the width we wanted because we wanted side entrance alongside house. viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 48Jan 19, 2016 11:31 pm kylz4 Did you upgrade your promotion to aggregate? Oh I wish but it is costly through them. We just went with charcoal colour to go with our roof If it was in budget we would have. Our roof, carpet and bricks took most of our budget in studio so we stuck with coloured lol viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 49Jan 19, 2016 11:31 pm That is why we went to double story, for a bit more backyard but also so the space on the side of the house, the single we were looking at would have had about 1m either side and would have felt very closed in! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 50Jan 19, 2016 11:33 pm $1400 variation for moving house back but will be more with deck extension, still waiting for those costs viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 51Jan 19, 2016 11:35 pm On top of free driveway promotion. We were the same, cheaper single home but lose space on each side. viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 52Jan 19, 2016 11:39 pm How much extra was it for the aggregate, about $1500? We will see how we go, coloured is only $400 and if we go that way we will go charcoal too. I'm still deciding what to do with facade. I was thinking of upgrading brick to Moonshadow for front only (basically sitting room area and maybe entrance i think bricked) and have render to pillars and around garage. However if i decide to do render after handover then i don't want to pay to upgrade bricks to full front just to cover them later... Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 53Jan 19, 2016 11:45 pm Hah moon shadow was our first choice but ended up to dark for our timber choices so we decided to choose Glenfern instead. Not sure if it's 1500 that's a good price if it is from upgrade viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 54Jan 19, 2016 11:48 pm Emmz70 Hah moon shadow was our first choice but ended up to dark for our timber choices so we decided to choose Glenfern instead. Hurts my brain trying to make it all work! Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 55Jan 19, 2016 11:49 pm kylz4 How much extra was it for the aggregate, about $1500? If your sure you will render choose standard bricks saves you money. I saw a house that was rendered and brick similar to our options, brick pillars and garage, didn't look too bad actually. Learning more to stacked stones for pillars. Wonder which is the cheaper option. Render or stacked stones? viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 56Jan 19, 2016 11:50 pm We are just going to go with Ironstone or Musket haze around the rest of the house, maybe i should just stick to that on the front too? I just find i'm more drawn to darker facades so thought moon shadow might work without being too crazy expensive. Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 57Jan 19, 2016 11:51 pm I also really like the look of stacked stones but worried it might date? I like the look of tiling to the pillars (or one of them) too. Hurts my brain trying to make it all work! We're getting timber wide pivot door that's why moon shadow didn't blend lol So we needed to go brown tones. Moon shadow doesn't blend with your choices? viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 59Jan 19, 2016 11:53 pm Emmz70 kylz4 How much extra was it for the aggregate, about $1500?
