I don't understand these architects and builders, most of us are first time builders paying all this money to them and yet only to find out we are stuck with our hands tied as we can't change anything even though it's their fault or claim it's on the plans or hidden in the contracts. Sorry Kylz, is the staircase in yet or are you waiting for them to install? Maybe you could ask the SS where the staircases is coming from or be there when the installer is there and see if they could easily change that section later on or pay them direct to change it now. I'm sure that will be hard to do behind the SS's back. Lol. This is my staircase just installed a couple of weeks back: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And this was our surprise after the staircase went in - cutting into the corner of our garage Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Love your stairs Rayges. With your surprise in Garage, how does this look like on your house plan? Hi Emmz, see below pic of my plans. Looking at it now you can see the dotted lines of the stairs going thru garage corner, but if nobody tells you this or you don't question it....you get a surprise lol. My wife and I thought it was just showing us where the top of the steps end upstairs. Silly us Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thanks so much Rayges for this, I'll be on the lookout for these Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1918Nov 06, 2016 3:22 pm kylz4 JLH222 kylz4 Yes very frustrating Rayges! So hard to pick up on every little thing on the plans, I thought of looked through it with a fine tooth comb but this sucker slipped through! I might try and ask if I can speak to stair people when they install and just question them about how hard it would be to change later! Bugger to your garage surprise but your stairs are stunning at least Hey Kylz, you're in Melb? Call S&A Stairs and ask them directly what your options are. They will be the ones installing your stairs. http://www.sastairs.com.au Metro 32 KDRB Bayside Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=84012 Thanks JLH, we are in Geelong region so not sure they'd use same supplier. M supposedly went back to stair people and they told them it would all need to be redone. I don't believe them though! Will chat to installers when they are there and see what options are available post handover Yeah, they do Geelong too. Good idea to chat directly to the installers when they arrive. I don't believe they called the stair company at all. The amount of crap M have told me and expect me to believe is laughable!! Renderers on site today doing final coat to top floor, painters booked tomorrow for eaves and then back next week for first floor once render completely set. Internal walls have supposedly all been fixed and are now plumb, plumber and electrician booked to come back and fix up their issues (wires in contact with plumbing, no conduit on wire next to plumbing under slab for island bench etc). Scaff is due to come down by next Friday, only 3 weeks after SM said it would come down a few weeks ago. Hope its cost them a bit to have it up so long!!! Can't wait to see the exterior complete with piers and garage also rendered, no idea when that will happen, assume when scaff is down!? Hoping re inspection goes well and we can move forward to plastering pretty quickly! Peeved that I'm going to have to pay for that when the only reason we did it early was so that we could be onsite for it and then SM changed time without telling us so we missed it anyway! If we'd known we wouldn't have been there for it we would have held off doing it but we thought we'd be away for it Re: Building Metricon Glendale 42 Limited Edition in Geelong 1920Nov 09, 2016 8:56 pm Its all happening again!
