Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 14, 2016 8:17 pm So our house will be roughly 11.5m across (front will be rendered) and 20m long (193sqm in total) standard rectangle, single level. Assuming there is a fairly standard brick size, can any maths whizz's work out roughly how many bricks would be needed for the exterier? Re: How Many Bricks? One For The Maths Experts 2Jan 14, 2016 10:57 pm it,s going to depend on how many windows and doors you have. Re: How Many Bricks? One For The Maths Experts 3Jan 14, 2016 10:59 pm Standard brick, has about 49 units per m2. Single story height lets say brickwork goes to 2.6m high. So 11.5x2.6=29.9 (say 30), double it front and back you get 60. Then 20x2.6=52, double for both sides you get 104, so 164 in total. So number of bricks needed is 8036. Less of course because you would have windows and doors that clearly don't get bricked. Re: How Many Bricks? I totally agree with everything you have written. Thanks again for your always excellent input and advice. I really enjoy reading your posts cheers Simeon 1 3280 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
