I thought I'd start up my own thread so share our experiences and the progress of our build - seeing we should be having earthworks and slab down in the imminent future We're building a custom version of the Metropolitan to suit a narrow lot. Display is in Madora Bay. We had to change it a fair bit though. Hopefully everyone will be back at work today and everyone's builds will get underway. Earthworks - HGWA Double Storey - Metropolitan 7Feb 01, 2016 12:06 am So earthworks started on Friday with the plan to have retaining installed tomorrow and earthworks complete by the end of the week! http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv29/mmm_CCs/IMG_2204_zps8duqmhhe.jpg Building our new home: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81449 Re: Slabbed - HGWA Two-Storey - Metropolitan 9Feb 20, 2016 12:59 pm We got slabbed this week and so thankful that the weather is not unbearably hot The tap was moved by Water Corp on Monday so it wouldn't coincide with the driveway however it now sits next to the electrical dome. I thought they had to be at least a meter away from each other? http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv29/mmm_CCs/IMG_2710_zpsm7cvfte0.jpg Formworks were completed on Wednesday though we were slightly disheartened as the area looked so small... We're hoping the delivery of window frames is a good sign Building our new home: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81449 Re: Slabbed - HGWA Two-Storey - Metropolitan 11Feb 21, 2016 1:50 pm congats on your slab water corp moved our meter next to the elec dome as well, exactly the same as yours. Re: Slabbed - HGWA Two-Storey - Metropolitan 12Mar 24, 2016 9:03 am Congrats on your slab, it won't be long... I hope the brickwork will start and fly... We are also building with HGWA, two story..So far ok, but should have bit lenient on changes though. Now in scheduling phase. But I am not sure whether they have already received the planning approval. Closely following your built. Re: Bricklaying - HGWA Two-Storey - Metropolitan 13Mar 28, 2016 6:57 pm Bricklaying started last week (starting 21 March) and below are a few photos of progress to date We were originally told by our CLO that it would commence mid-week 14 March, so we were disappointed when there weren't any changes on site the weekend prior to Easter. We're still yet to meet the site supervisor so hopefully this will happen sometime soon. Hope they can recover initial delays on planning approvals with the time. In my case they mentioned planning approval is not required, not sure why. Have you manage to meet the site supervisor yet? Re: Slabbed - HGWA Two-Storey - Metropolitan 15Apr 02, 2016 3:20 am Thanks sandy19, we have our first meeting with the site supervisor this coming Thursday morning. Lucky you for not having to go through planning! Hope that the rest of your approvals go through smoothly. Next week most probably they will apply for the building permit and we will know within couple of weeks. For your meeting, I have read and heard everywhere that it's the site supervisor's ability and experience more than the builders name, once the built is started. Hope your supervisor is one of those who can drive it quickly without compromising the quality. Look forward to see pictures of latest progress.
