I am building a duplex and rather than using a double brick with air cavity in between system for party wall, it has been suggested by the builder to use the CSR shaft liner.
I am wondering if anyone has experience using them and how good they are from acoustic and thermal insulation and also how well they withstand fire.
I had always thought that a double brick party wall may also have some load bearing properties (not sure if this is the case) which may then make the building weaker if a sheet of fibre cement such as the shaft liner is used instead of double brick. Would that be correct?
Also I am wondering if there are similar alternatives to the CSR shaft liner such as the Knaf products?
