Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 25, 2015 9:40 pm Hi, I'm looking to build Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition with Peninsular façade. Had anyone built or in the process in building this? Need some advice on this. 1) Difference between value inclusion and luxury upgrade? 2) Is it worth it to upgrade from value inclusion to luxury? 3) Can't locate the electrical listing. Does anyone have one? 4) Is it worth it to get a sparkie to do up the lighting or let Metricon handle it? thanks in advance Any other information much appreciated. Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 2Jan 01, 2016 3:31 pm Hi, Happy New Year. I had spoken to the sales consultant just to clarify my doubts. Basically, Glendale 50 Limited Edition under Freedom comes with value inclusion as standard. But I prefer the luxury inclusion from the Designer range. With the luxury inclusions added onto the Glendale 50 Limited Edition, the house is in already feature packed. Just to name a few, 1) 2550mm ceiling for ground and 2400 to first floor 2) 900mm upright cooker and rangehood. 3) Cabinet and overhead cupboards (704mm height) to kitchen 4) 20mm stone benchtop for kitchen island 5) Include 40m2 of feature render for double storey 6) 2340mmx920mm front entry door 7) Brick infill to front, side and rear windows including above garage door. Sectional garage door with opener and 3 remote control PDF copy of Designer inclusion: http://www.metricon.com.au/metricon/med ... f?ext=.pdf PDF copy of Freedom inclusion: http://www.metricon.com.au/metricon/med ... f?ext=.pdf Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 4Jan 01, 2016 4:50 pm Musket Haze - Brick Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Coal Dust - Roof Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Osprey - Stone benchtop Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stone benchtop with top and bottom cabinet colours Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laminated floorboard Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tiles Limestone bone gloss 400x400mm Gloss chalk 200x300 mm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 7Jan 01, 2016 11:40 pm Lovely selections, gee you have done well doing some colour selections already! We aren't booked in til end of January. I'm thinking greys/whites/timber theme for inside Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 8Jan 02, 2016 7:41 am Emmz70 Thanks Emmz70. May i ask for the lighting, what is the quote like? For example, from existing batten light change to led? I think metricon is using viewlight ? Weblink-http://www.viewlight.com.au/ secondly, if needed a new led point what are the charges like? Lastly, what other cost will incurr if additional light point or switch required? Like RCB breaker? Have you upgraded the heating to zoned or with cooling? Cheers, have a good day Sent from my SM-N910G Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 9Jan 02, 2016 7:46 am kylz4 Lovely selections, gee you have done well doing some colour selections already! In a matter of 15 mins we were @ the 10k mark hah. So easy to spend money on this day. The program they use is user friendly and the ladies are fantastic We upgraded our standard heating to 4 zone. (Being double storey). This suited our situation because we preferred to have our master suite downstairs. We could then zone our heating to certain zones. We selected 4 but you can request for more. Once you finish electrical you will attend Heating and cooling selections and they are very helpful. These are some quotes: Heating is top quote and the remaining cooling Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is their best cooling that's suitable for big homes: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Prices can range up to 25k For lighting if you want to replace batons they are as follows: Wiring (internal & external) $56 LED 10w - $45 External Wall light point 15w - $65 External ceiling light point weatherproof - $70 Under cabinet light with box - $125 External Junction box - $56 40amp circuit Breaker costed - $650 Two way switch - $51 Dimmer switches - $82 Single power point - $55 Double power point - $61 Double power point to Island bench - $95 Quadruple power point - $117 Single weatherproof power point - $90 Double weatherproof power point - $120 Floodlight - $90 Extra light circuit - $168 Extra power circuit - $168 Airflow exhaust fan - $155 Pre-wire ceiling fan - $95 Phone point - $130 Data point - $130 Tv point - $130 We opted to get ceiling fans, cooling and feature lights handover. I hope this is helpful, a lot of people choose to get down lights later because they are much cheaper elsewhere and more wattage. We just decided to go ahead with M for downstairs and living areas, one less hassle for us viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 13Jan 03, 2016 1:54 am Hi Emmz70, Thanks so much for the costing. At least I wouldn't get a shock. With the 4 star heating with 4 zone and controller, which model of the controller are used in the quote? How many controllers are there? Likely I will do up evaporative cooling and refrigerated cooling after handover. Btw, have your built started? Thanks for everything. Braemar model. They have other options as well when it's your appointment time Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Still awhile for our build. Our land doesn't title until June. We managed to push our contract signing to the 18th this month and then we can finally do tiling appointment with Beaumont tiles. Then it's wait, wait, for June I will definitely be following your build and looking forward to all our exciting adventures for the new. viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 15Jan 03, 2016 9:56 am My land titled at June too. What a coincidence. I've yet to set the appointment as I would like to gather as much information as I can on the cost and work on my budget first. How exciting, thinking of both home built at the same time. Thanks again. Have a lovely Sunday. 😉 Sent from my SM-N910G Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 16Jan 03, 2016 10:05 am I like your color selection. I'm very interested to see how your kitchen turns out. I've been considering something similar myself. Congrats on your purchase and enjoy the journey. Why you've decided to close the area off? viewtopic.php?t=79203 Re: Metricon Glendale 50 Limited Edition 18Jan 03, 2016 1:00 pm Yes, a veranda with clear polycarbonate roof from back of garage till family or rumpus room after handover. Yet to consider decking or exposed aggregate on that area. We decided to get decking through M thinking we are still deciding to get them to extend another metre or more or get extension later on. $200 m2 through M. They also have an external landscaper we enquired about so may look into that as well. Can't wait to see your updated plans better to get all structural done earlier because we made dramatic changes and we were charged 1k for variations. viewtopic.php?t=79203 Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
