Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 20, 2008 11:58 am We have chosen port phillip bricks, as these were the only ones we could both agree on.
My husband has now decided (after the sand has been delivered) that he wants off-white mortar and not natural (which for DFH is grey). Now I am pretty sure they could do cream by using a different cement, but off white would mean new sand, which theres no way the SS will agree to. Thing is they reckon they will only do off-white or natural - if they were more flexible we could get a cream colour simply by using a different cement... Is it worth asking the SS whether there is anything that can be done about it, or is it too late? The bricks still look ok with the natural, but when we chose it we were planning to have raked mortar joints and have since changed to rolled, so the colour is going ot be a lot more prominant now. Please tell I have *some* hope of getting this fixed.
