Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 18, 2015 4:42 pm Hey guys, have been lurking for a while and have now signed up for some advice! My parents own a relatively large property in Mount Waverley, approx. 950m2. It is current occupied with 1 house as a rental property. Our aim, is to knock that property down, subdivide the land into 3 lots and build 3 new houses (3-4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, double garage). It might make the process a bit more difficult but the title is under my mothers name, but my folks want me to lead the project from start to finish. I have started a bit of research on builders and compiling a list of builders to meet with. I just wanted to get a bit of insight and advice from you guys about this. Particularly if you have done something similar before. What are some builders you could recommend for this project? What is the process from start to finish for the big steps? E.g. council approval, demolition etc. What sort of time frame would we be looking at for these major stages? Look forward to learning more about building.
