Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 17, 2015 8:05 pm Hi All, Was suggested to me to start up a build thread for our home with construction due to start in January. It has been a very long journey to get to this point, about 12 months to settle on the design and a good 18-20 months to get through town planning. Nightmare at every turn... We bought the corner block (430m) a while ago and lived in the 1 bedroom 6sq house with a child for about 7 years. The tiny house is now gone and we are ready to start bulk excavation. I wanted to go owner builder but unfortunately we didn't have enough cash behind us to keep the banks happy so going with a small boutique builder who is known to me. Signed the contract earlier this week and have sorted out all interior and fit out. Just finalising the exterior colours now, should be done on the weekend. Here are some details: Interior Ceiling - Dulux White on White Walls - Dulux White on White (with one grey feature wall that will link down stairs and upstairs through the void) Flooring - Spotted Gum Tiles - BT Evolution Grey Cabinetry - Natural white sheen, melamine finish Kitchen Bench - Caesarstone 'Atlantic Salt' Wet area benches - Laminex 'Alluvial Stone' Shows Evolution Grey tile, Laminex Alluvial Stone and Dulux White on White https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z8ljAKKBseDKw-w-aAhml4EzoGaaU0aRRQ/view?usp=sharing Exterior Face Brick - Boral Victorian Blue Roofing - Colobond Gully Wall Cladding - Gully Render - Colorbond Evening Haze Windows - Colorbond Monument Garage Door - Evening Haze Front Door - Evening Haze Shows (not very well) Boral Victorian Blue brick, Evening Haze, Gully and Monument https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FcZwxbM3o6hjSRrWHE3FxRqhk1429zeM7A/view?usp=sharing Elevations https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxvNTrmo56z7d1NFSGxBcWtZdmM/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxvNTrmo56z7b0UyaElNWFJsckE/view?usp=sharing Floor Plan https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxvNTrmo56z7dlR2U2dLb2xTdWs/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxvNTrmo56z7RjJ0VXdwbnNDQ00/view?usp=sharing Feel free to ask any questions and I'll answer as best I can. I will try to keep some regular updates once things start moving along depending on time constraints. Hope it is of interest to some of you and if it helps anyone out with ideas that's great too. Cheers. Re: Custom Build - Eastern Suburbs Melbourne 2Dec 18, 2015 1:44 am Nice modern look. Colour selections can be confusing. took me age to get the colours that we like.
