Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 14, 2015 3:34 am Hi everyone, We are ready to sign our final plans and we wanted some advice on our current kitchen layout? Do you reckon this would work? The window in between the benches is a double hung servery window giving onto the alfresco. The aluminium door in the scullery is also giving on to the alfresco. There is also a sliding window above the sink. (The first picture need to be changed as the door was sticking out too much from the wall, the second picture is showing how it will look after) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Advice on Kitchen layout 2Dec 14, 2015 7:19 am I'm far from an expert - but my chief concerns in a kitchen (a male's) include - room to move, little bending - I hate M/waves etc under benches, I prefer a wall oven, and plenty of storage space. Also good bench space to work. Not a great fan of the butler's pantry - but many are. AND - plenty of PPs - doubles - and very good lighting. Sorry if that's not to the point. I like easy access to outside area - especially if you plan to eat outside a lot. Re: Advice on Kitchen layout 3Dec 14, 2015 8:18 am I'd take that 200mm of void out from under the bench, bringing the bench back to 1000 deep, and then use that 200mm to widen up the pantry, putting in 200mm deep shelves along the back of the wall behind the cooktop. That's on the basis that we're always looking for more storage, an that empty space under the bench seems wasted. Where are the oven and microwave? The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15568 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6118 |
